Sibierski
Just now, Optimistic Nut said: That's sort of what I'm getting at though? All 3 of those are punts. If they smashed it, they'd double their money in a year or two. They've been caught up by the likes of Bournemouth & Brentford who have similar ways of going about things. Palace do it slightly differently mixing up young English potential and signing the odd generational talent like Eze, but they're probably on a similar level. West Ham will likely come back to at least a mid-table side again next year, Everton's new stadium and revenue might give them a boost to climb out of that 14-17th rung. It's not unique what they do anymore. Seen it so often with the likes of Swansea & Southampton where they look mid-table or slightly better, get it wrong one year and it's all undone. They're at a stage now where £50m or so on Watkins will improve them. Just feel they're in danger of those clubs I've mentioned overtaking them or at least matching them and they drop 5-6 places in the table pretty rapidly over the course of a season or two. My point was more signing 25yr olds for £25m isn’t really with a view of trading profits, it’s a shift in policy to signing players differently to what they’ve done before to kick on. Signing likes of Baleba are with a view of profits, likes of O’Riley are not. So them moving to signing Watkins type of signings are already being done by them (I.e. ready made and played many games in Europe / European domestic leagues) It’s like us signing Barnes isn’t with an eye for profit, it’s for the output in the immediate. Agree they will be caught up, because every club in their bracket will have an off season or two and drop off. Wolves and Leicester of recent years are two examples. Sibierski
Speaking of Brighton, wonder where James Milner goes in summer? Would’ve become all time appearances in prem this season hadn’t he got injured. Would Leeds want him on a one year deal?

Quite frankly, it's really none of your business, and so I'd appreciate it if you mind your own business and stop sticking your nose in. I'm not referring to your interaction with TCD. Again with the talking down though, you can't help yourself can you?

Kid Icarus
1 hour ago, KaKa said: Rogers is so much better than Nunes that at the same time they were signing Nunes for £50 million they were selling Rogers to Boro for £1 million. Maybe, just maybe Rogers is playing for a damned good manager in a pretty good team better suited to his play style. Switch Rogers and Nunes situations around and let's see how they both look then. When Nunes was 24 and Rogers was 19? Can't imagine why. At the same age Nunes was playing in the Portuguese 2nd Division. The College Dropout
2 hours ago, Fak said: Why can't you just debate it in a friendly and polite manner instead of being so mean and rude He’s the worst. Nunes has never performed in the PL. He got a move to Man City based off his previous reputation in Portugal. Didn’t deliver at Wolves, hasn’t delivered for Man City. From day one in the PL Rogers has stood out and became a key player for Emery immediately.
The College Dropout
Man City don’t utilise their academy well. They sold Palmer in the same window they bought Nunes no? It’s a shit show.

Nucasol
How the PL have aided and abetted these clowns will be a scandal for a few years down the road: https://www.espn.co.uk/football/story/_/id/45023317/who-chelsea-sign-next-plus-all-need-know-estevao-essugo-other-new-arrivals
Sima
It won't though as Chelsea are completely protected and allowed to operate without any consequences.
r0cafella
Contrary to popular opinion I've got no issue with what Chelsea are doing, ultimately the clubs choose not to tighten the rules around such transactions so they've got nobody to blame but themselves. The issueI have is the fact Chelsea broke rules and self reported and as far as I can tell have either got away with it entirely or received a none punishment

Sibierski
2 minutes ago, joeyt said: Liverpool in for de Bruyne? Probably be a very good deal for them. Roll him out in the 9 position, dropping off to supply Salah and a new output LW. Then sign a striker in 2026 if market is more open for one then.
