If Man City are letting Grealish and potentially Savinho go I’m assuming they means they’ll make some sort of late move in the market for a wide player?

Is this not part of them trimming the squad in case Pep spits his dummy out and leaves ?

We've got far too many players mate, and Pep is always moaning about wanting a small squad (which he got last season when everyone was injured and we couldn't deal with it).

On the wings we've got Bernardo, Foden, Doku, Cherki, Bobb, Marmoush that can all play there - plus McAtee if he ends up staying. Not sure if Nico O'Reilly might be used there as well.

Would rather the deadwood be gone first mind, but Pep has his favourites

Rodrygo been the linked name, but then they would be back to needing to slim down the squad.

Marmoush / Doku for LW and Foden / Bobb for RW. With B.Silva able to play RW too (Cherki in a weird squad position) The CBs will be the ones they need to slim down next and a CM.

“We should be all….”

Nah, never saw where he fitted in for us. Will be interesting to see how he goes at Forest though.

Also interesting to see these sales by Man City, who ponder if they’re gearing up for something big, or just stockpiling the cash for future windows?

What’s happening with Kulusevski and Johnson though?

Kulusevski has a long term injury and may be out until next year. It’s not clear where he’d play either - Frank may view him as a #10, particularly since Maddison is also out until next year and possibly next season.

Johnson is a weird one. Simplistically, he scores a ton of goals but doesn’t really do much else. As Flav said on a recent Fighting Cock podcast after a Wales game - if you’d just watched that you’d think he was incredible. Trouble is, we’ve seen him week in and week out being underwhelming in all but scoring goals. I feel like every team I played in as a kid had somebody like him, good technique, fit, fast, just didn’t know the right thing to do in any given moment and needed their Dad to talk them through the game.

Frank apparently really wanted him so we’ll see. There’s a theory he will end up as an out-and-out forward. Either way, Porro and Kudus are nailed-on (and VDV and Romero if they’re fit) - it’s only every single other position on the pitch that’s a bit up in the air.

Johnson is Harvey Barnes-esque in some ways then? In the 90s a smaller poacher type striker. Not do much else but score?

He’s not small, he was just asked to do a very specific job by Ange and did one part of it very well. It’s just not clear yet how good he will be doing anything else.

Ornstein saying the fee for Grealish to Everton permanently is £50m!

No chance. He also won’t be going to Saudi for silly money as the stupid pissheed will be arrested in his first week for trying to buy moonshine.
