Gutted seems strong. We don't play a system that includes a number 10 and he's played predominately as a LW for most of his career. We already have Gordon and Barnes for that role and you could argue based on the last year or two. they are both better more impactful players than Grealish, especially in our system. Add the wages, the alleged unprofessional behaviour, age and the likely fee required to make permanent.

Maybe you're not gutted but I am. I'm in the minority.

If true, then a somewhat impactful defensive midfielder for Brighton is somehow worth more than one of the top five strikers in Europe.

and would have sold 2 DM's in the past 3 seasons for over £100m

It’s perfect bargaining fuel - Caceido left and then they brought in an identical player. There is no other Isak they can just bring in to do an equivalent job. Ekitike may be good but he won’t do what Isnake does.

Of course that's your opinion. Just trying to understand why?

Who would you be wanting to drop out of the team for him? Would you want him permanently or just for a year on loan (which Eddie doesn't like doing so wouldn't be possible anyways)

I understand that he doesn't really fit into our style but I love me a flair player. No logic to my thoughts whatsoever, you're right.

Man United are apparently closing in on DLC so if Eddie wants him, he better get his finger out. Let's be honest, we are running out of time and targets.

I'm gutted that Grealish is going to Everton, I think he'd be great here.

Downloadable content? 😂

Kulusevski has a long term injury and may be out until next year. It’s not clear where he’d play either - Frank may view him as a #10, particularly since Maddison is also out until next year and possibly next season.

Johnson is a weird one. Simplistically, he scores a ton of goals but doesn’t really do much else. As Flav said on a recent Fighting Cock podcast after a Wales game - if you’d just watched that you’d think he was incredible. Trouble is, we’ve seen him week in and week out being underwhelming in all but scoring goals. I feel like every team I played in as a kid had somebody like him, good technique, fit, fast, just didn’t know the right thing to do in any given moment and needed their Dad to talk them through the game.

Frank apparently really wanted him so we’ll see. There’s a theory he will end up as an out-and-out forward. Either way, Porro and Kudus are nailed-on (and VDV and Romero if they’re fit) - it’s only every single other position on the pitch that’s a bit up in the air.

Useful knowledge for FPL, that

Was unsure how nailed van de Ven would be after last season's injury problems. Do you think Pape Sarr plays as the number 10? He's had a good pre-season.

Pep would do a grand old job ruining him, like

Aye, turning him in another joyless robot without any flair or excitement. It'll take him a season but Pep will get him there eventually.

As long as they’re fit, VDV and Romero will be the first option at CB.

Frank has been playing Sarr there a bit, mainly because of injuries. I don’t think it’s a viable long-term plan tbh. Sarr can run and run, but I’m not sure he has the creativity or nous to be #10.
