madras
Ashley knows Staveley can agree a deal in principle and his money wont be at risk in the January window (Man City style) even though the deal wouldn't officially go through till after January so as fo now they can both sit tight and see who blinks. Should we get further into January I think Ashley may get a little nervy about his investment and a small increase from Staveley could clinch the deal. Twinport53
Hope this goes through soon so we can sack Rafa and get a relegation qualified manager like Pulis or Pearson.

SuperFlat
Anyone able to post up Caulkin's article from today? He mentions that they have an outline agreement on £300m.
Wilson
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5196233/Newcastle-relegation-position-hamper-club-sale.html As we already knew really. PCP's stance with regards to a relegation clause will be a lot tougher now that it's the probable outcome of another wasted season. Fatty's going to have to be a lot more accommodating towards it if he wants out. Just feels like everything's going round in circles (mainly due to us knowing f*** all and the same s*** getting regurgitated once a week).
TRon
Rafa Benítez’s position at Newcastle United is as secure as ever, with Amanda Staveley, who is pushing to buy the club from Mike Ashley, viewing the Spaniard as an integral part of her plans for St James’ Park. Benítez, whose team have lost eight of their past nine matches and have slipped into the bottom three of the Premier League, is suffering his worst run in senior management, but his future is not in doubt. After lifting the club to promotion last season, the 57-year-old remains a popular figure among most Newcastle supporters, who recognise that the manager was dealt a poor hand in the summer transfer market. Benítez’s name is routinely sung at matches. Staveley’s PCP Capital Partners group, who have submitted an improved £300 million bid and have formulated an outline agreement with Ashley, would walk away from any deal if Benítez were no longer involved. While there is no suggestion that Benítez is under pressure from the present hierarchy, his relationship with Ashley has been strained after Newcastle’s limited spending in the past two tranfer windows. Staveley, who attempted to buy Liverpool when Benítez was manager at Anfield, wants him to lead improvements at Newcastle’s academy and training ground, as well as challenge in the Premier League and cup competitions. Benítez is desperate to secure new players next month and is mulling a loan move for Danny Ings, the Liverpool forward. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/rafa-benitez-safe-at-newcastle-73227zhw3 Make of that what you will. Stifler
Exactly. Our fans are panicking more with our poor form and league position, until it is completed it’s an easy story maker for newspapers/ITK bullshitters to gain clicks, likes, and followers. The more our poor form continues the easier it is to jump on the back of negative fans.

NG32
The only thing is, we are running out of time re the transfer window...I thinks that's where the worry is coming from and our total lack of any form.
Sir Toon
I guess the calibre of January signing will determine if there is takeover in the pipeline or not. Less than 2 weeks to get the drink stocked up or look for the nearest bridge.
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
My main issue with January is that it looks like it'll be down to Ashley and his clan to get things sorted before being reimbursed when a takeover is complete. I've little faith in Charnley, Barnes et al sorting things swiftly.
Dokko
TBH it would be better news to get a signing announced in the coming days rather than the takeover, if it’s a decent one like Luiz on loan or the Turkish striker then it’s all but confirmed the takeover anyway. When £300m cash is on the line and they have no future liability for the cost of the transfers you'll see just how quickly these cunts can make deals happen.
