Stay possitive!

This was expected. Ashley was never going to accept the first offer. Why would he? And why would Kenyon offer the highest bid he could first?

This is part of the negotiation. He knows Ashley won't take a bid of less than £300M, wich he has offered(£200M now and £100M if CL in 10 years). It's about how the payments will look like. And this was a first bid and a bit of a testing one.

Now it's up to Kenyon to up his offer and make a new proposal over the payments.

We'll just have to wait and se. At least something is happening and the game is on.

I don't believe he's ever wanted to sell it.

Really?

Yep. Every time i allow myself begin to think that something might be happening, I ask myself why would he sell? I've never been able to answer it.

There is no incentive for him to sell when his wealth and power increases all the time.

I was being sarcastic. But i'm glad you wrote this for anyone that doesn't realise this yet.

Ashley's figured out the tactic now. Knows how to bounce between leagues, keep the club a talking point to get SD all that lovely exposure.

He's a businessman and as such, his business strategies always evolve.

A lot of people have suggested this is the strategy. I actually disagree. I think his current approach is that Rafa is good enough to keep us up with the minimum amount of investment, so he'll put in the minimum amount. If we get relegated, we have the funds to come back up. If we stay up. He lets Rafa go. Brings in the next dickhead and gives him the money he should've given Rafa but will still hold back incase we get relegated anyway.

I know. But there is no other way to do this.

Don't think anyone would just ask Ashley what he wants. Ashley names it and the bidder just say ok, here you go.

It takes some negotiation.

If they can agree in the end is another question, I guess.

Aye this is my last year as a season ticket holder if Ashley stays, I'm not even that fussed about going to the remaining games this season, I've attended every protest and walked in at 11 minutes with the other 14 fans and its all for nowt.

.Ashley has won and as far as I'm concerned he can keep the club I'll go and watch Consett

Same.

I hope there's thousands more like you

Out of our pre match group of usually about a dozen, 7 have said they won't be going next season if Ashleys still there.

A mackem on rtg reckons it’s pretty much the same consortium that was behind Slavely last year, now with Kenyon fronting it. The whole been there before feeling makes more sense if it were true.

a mackem on rtg. Howwa man.

Steve Wraith man, acting like some all knowing oracle on anything takeover related. I know he's probably going to end up being right but fucking hell. One of the biggest plusses I'd get from a takeover would be him being shown up as a cunt again.

 Thinks he's the oracle on all things takeover wise because he was once sat in the same vicinity as Staveley, bloke needs to go & suck on an exhaust pipe.

MA clearly wants more than anyone is willing to pay. Whether someone finally steps up and pays the price the bastard wants remains to be seen over the next few weeks. I’m convinced that NOBODY would be at this stage if they didn’t have the ability to pay 300m. But anyway.

Agreed Kanj.

Why would the same consortium, who know fatty wants more than they were willing to pay last year, come back and do due diligence again, offer less than they already know fatty is willing to accept, then back out.

Not sure why I've just responded to this post.
