He's saying the right things to get them excited and it appears to be working. The reality might just end up being that these two guys are very much part of a piss take party as they appear to be a couple of chances way out of their depth.

Having said that League 1 isn't great, wouldn't take a lot to get out of it. If they get off to a good start then the fans will come back and they'll probably have 30 thousand watching them BUT hopefully a bad start will occur and then they will be well and truly in the shitter.

"The piss-take party stops now"...Sounds like the 'hard' teacher at school when he lost his rag. Im sure rapey to groom are pure lapping it up.

Oh and for context: One Of The Greatest Clubs In The World 1:2 Burton Albion (OOTGCITW Relegated to Div 3)

Somthing isn't quite right about all this.

They owed c£70m to SBC, Short pays that off and only gets £40m in return. So getting rid of it cost him £30m. That would be a remarkable piece of altruism from a seasoned distressed debt investor. Maybe SBC took a hit in return for settlement and took 50-60 on the pound, otherwise it would have made more sense to just hand the keys to SBC and wish them good luck.

So any new players will get in a year what Rodwell gets in a week, I bet that goes down well in the Pre season bonding session

Lots of them seem convinced that there are more investors waiting in the wings to just hand the club loads of money to spend.

They seem to have turned a blind ear to the part of that podcast where they said any transfer dealings would be with the "fan's money" and that part of the problem with the club is that the fans expect the owner to bankroll spending.

They're now going to be the new Burnley according to many on RTG.

Based on that wonderful thing mackem logic, which now decrees that poor owners are better than rich ones and any club with poor owners can finish 7th in the PL and qualify for Europe.

Piece of cake really.

Blind eye or deaf ear.

Would love to know the details of their future repayments to Short........there's no way he's effectively giving away the club for nowt to a couple of gobshite chancers to possibly make a load of money out of it. My guess is that they actually owe more money than they did previously, as 100% of their debt is now external to Uncle Ellis.

Apparently we're the gullible cunts who will lap anything up though.

If he's written off the debt owed to him he hasn't given it away, he's effectively paid them to take it off his hands. Highly unlikely IMO.

Thanks for that, I'm as grateful as the pontiff would be for a roll of Andex when defecating in woodland.
