Bottom of the form table in League 1.

Really hope they don’t get promoted.

May help take the pressure of them?
think they get a lot of injury time due to many teams seem to want to waste time against them , no idea why? Big club my arse .

Dropping out the play offs is far too much to hope for , isn’t it?

That Charlton goal doesn't matter too much does it? If they win their game in hand Portsmouth are still outside the play-offs on 69.

Charlton have a game in hand though, if theyd won and won their game in hand, coupled with Portsmouth hanging on, the unwashed would have been in serious danger.

Regardless what happens in their next 2 games they make the playoffs. However they don't have the stomach, confidence or fight for the next 2, possibly 3 and look likely to fall short.

Lot of talk the players make themselves unemployed if they go up this season, but have a much better chance of extensions if the club is in L1. Might be something in that, especially the relatively low wages L1 footballers get.

Imagine mid-summer, they're facing another year in League One and we've been taken over by the Saudis. If they don't go up this time they'll be down for a while.

Nah, they'll go up next year.  They actually have investment behind them now and not some chancer.

That's what we thought 14 years ago. Just never know how its going to pan out or what their true intentions are. Personally I do think they'll buy the league next season, whether that makes them even more hated and 'everyone's cup final' and they struggle but in different ways, who knows. Probably more wishful thinking. Only a matter of time they get back to where they belong. Mid table in the Chamionship.

SCMP makes it impossible for any team to blow money in the lower leagues. The new bloke has also said he’s running the club within the financial restrictions. They also have a multitude of players to either replace or tie up to new contracts.
