They rave that we can't take 6 in a row away from them, completely oblivious to the fact that the reason we can't is because they're in the 3rd fucking division. It's a classic pyrrhic victory.

They mentioned in the commentary of the 4-1 how we’d made it 5-in-a-row. Didn’t even register at the time and can’t remember us using it as something to crow about. It’s literally all they’ve got.

I mentioned this exact event to a mackem friend (cough) of mine.  Actually, after going on about his six in a row for what seemed like forever I politely asked him if he knew which team held the record prior to six in a row.  He just looked at me blankly.  I then said do you know why you don't know, it's because we Newcastle fans didn't go on about it for years to come.  Small time arseholes, the lot of them.

Ah but the 6 in a row is killing us

9 unbeaten including 6 wins - yet I don't know a single fan that was keeping count.

From the people that brought us "we always win 2-1" - when they'd lost as many 2-1 as won.  (last two games at Roker e.g.) Yet no such chant was forthcoming from our end.  One loss on Wearside in over 30years - yet nothing was made of it.

The only fans I've known keep count were Hibs going 21 unbeaten against Hearts. That's the level of rinky-dinkness were talking about here.

Just watched Albert Luque wrap it up, can’t remember if I was there or not .They were fucking shite in that second half mind.litter, the litter

I remember it being on nufc.coms match report for that game that their groundsman went in a right tantrum at full time in front of the Newcastle fans and had to be escorted down the tunnel. Or something like that.

It was fuckin hilarious, he had to be restrained by a couple of stewards from getting stuck into our whole travelling support, whilst still holding the corner flags.

It's been 14 years, plus I was in the back row as far away as you could be, but as I recall he flung the flags to the ground and a massive scuffle ensued between this nugget, a load of stewards / police and the front couple of rows of the away end.

Yes, think you're right. It used to be on YouTube, but I can't find it now.

Still comfortably the funniest thing I've seen at a match, and I saw the Ranson and Fereday debacle at Oakwell.

Ray Ransons wife was the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.

Really? Was this when he played for us, or when he went on to become a multi millionaire business man? Up

We he played for us

Just looked at the last page of that thread about us and they’re STILL talking about Rafa

What I’d give for him to return and win us a trophy!

Rinse and repeat!

The EFL are fucking with them a bit.

There was a vote early this week to decide if they were going to cancel or play season.

The votes were cast but not revealed. When the club were voting the EFL decided to have a vote next week instead. By the end of last week that vote has now been moved to the week after next.

Many clubs already have concerns about playing games behind closed doors, and the longer no games go on the harder it is for them to justify playing the remainder of the season.

On top of this, unlike Championship clubs, the League One clubs are not yet in training and have not been tested yet, so as it stands they are at least 3-4 weeks from playing games, assuming they started both right now.

With most clubs having 9 games, maybe more, plus the play offs, it would be almost impossible to finish the season in the time remaining.

A huge number of players contracts in League One are due to end either at the end of June, or July. Again this makes it increasingly for clubs to justify finishing the season.

This just appears to be a situation which the EFL has engineered to force the few clubs in League One who wanted to continue playing, to back down and vote for the season ending.
