St1pe
I’ve been enjoying these sorts of graphs lately. So Longstaff Is good at pressing. Not so good once he gets the ball.

Collage
I’ve liked him, or been wanting him to do well, ever since those great performances under Rafa. He’s let us down too often and I’m still not convinced, but I’d keep him for now. May be a player there.

Not so good once he gets the ball. Not that surprised tbh, he does chase players down, if somewhat clumsily at times. The main issue is as you say, his use of the ball once he's got it isn't that great. But I still prefer him to Shelvey, I think he puts more pressure on the opposition, even if Shelvey has more quality on the ball.
PatrickKluivert
Out of contract in the summer. Do we want to keep him? Would he want to stay? I assume if we want to keep him we will be able to agree a suitable contract. Rejoining Rafa is not an option right now with Rafa out of work. I like to keep local lads/academy products whenever possible. Boiled my piss watching Steve Watson play for Everton and Villa all those years. At the same time, he does not appear to have developed as we thought he might a few years ago and does not really look good enough for where we aspire to be (assuming we stay up). Awaymag
Dummett, Shar and Longstaff should not have their contracts renewed. Let them all go, we need a start the full removal of the old squad.
jonny1403
Makes sense to wait until the summer in any event as if we go down you'd imagine we would want to keep him.

TRon
How did he do after he came on? I have a feeling Howe still sees a player in there and might get him looking half decent again, assuming he can find a way to get in the team.
gbandit
I'd say he was almost entirely anonymous but did a lot of running

Thiago
He's had an odd few years. Rafa saw quality in him as a shielding DM that could read the game in front of him and make smart passes quickly and effectively. I liked him in that role too, but I think he often was a bit deeper. As a box to box midfielder I'm not convinced he has the engine to get around the pitch and be consistent on the ball. I like him though.
McCormick
I think his engine is fine, it’s his lack of athleticism that limits him imo.
Thumbheed
The thing is he's always up there with the pressing stats and seemingly up there with the tackles as well and we know or knew at least that he had real quality on the ball so unless injuries have absolutely robbed him of that quality there's surely still a brilliant player in there? It's not like he didn't hold his own against 2 of the very best midfielders in the world.

Consortium of one
Again we come back to Bruce's tactical naivety. Longstaff, under Rafa, most likely had a well defined role: break up play, lay the ball off quickly, keep the ball moving in the buildup and hover outside the opponents box in possession. Bruce probably just told him to sit deeper and clear the ball. When everyone is sitting deep, who do you pass the ball to? There was no spacing. Some players were thinking "Should I break forward? Nah, maybe I should sit back." We were an absolute mess. I can't honestly evaluate any player's performance under the shit show produced by that fat, tub o' lard.
