He's massively underrated on here like.

He was very good today, did well against Chelsea B too so fair play. He can be good and important, but theres also been tons of times when he’s been shocking. He’s a very functional cog in the system when he’s at his best even if somewhat limited in other areas of his game.

Howe himself he was running on empty the end of last season, probably carrying knocks and general fatigue. He’s starting to look like his old self with rest and rotation.

He’s a confidence player too and this will do him the world of good. Getting some love from the home crowd will help too.

He influences games more than Tonali in the current set up.

He was very good today.

However, I want to see Tonali in this same team with the two Joe's and Gordon and Tino on his side before I can fully agree with this.

Yeah he was really good today. The way the game developed played perfectly for him and allowed him to do all of the things he's good at, the physical stuff, chasing, closing down spaces, energy and just being a nuisance in general is his perfect role. His limitations were never exposed and he was never asked to be creative in possession as the early goal set up the nature and tempo of the last 80 minutes. He was great, fair play, I'm never going to be his biggest fan but he stepped up today and delivered the performance he needed to :)

Reckon he'd be at the top of his game if he felt the crowd and fans were 100% behind him. For me, feels like that's the missing part for him.

He definitely seems impacted by all the negativity towards him and I can't blame him.

I thought he was much better on the ball today as well. Far more decisive than usual, particularly in the first half. Glad he's had a strong week.

Fantastic performance. His pass out to Gordon for the goal may look simple but it was perfect and had to be to enable Gordon to put in the perfect cross. Perfect weight on the pass and no bobble at all! I criticise him a lot but buzzing for him and hopefully he can keep it up, defensive work was sensational

He’s a great squad player with a tactical purpose in certain games.

In games when we likely have less of the ball or require an agressive press like the last two, he’s got “something” he’s fine to live at this level.

In games when we dominate the ball, yes we likely need a better “football” player but he has a purpose he’s a squad player who the manager generally knows how to use and when.

I was annoyed when I read Longstaff was starting over Sandro, Eddie nailed it though, fair play to him.
