Messi got the "Sergio Ramos Salah" treatment from Liverpool tonight. Some right cheeky fouls on him designed to give him a few bruises on the sly. Milner's was ridiculous, he knew the ball was out of play and still went for a shoulder into Messi's chest.

Don't think the tie is completely over yet, we've seen some ridiculous comebacks in recent seasons and this Barca defense definitely did not look solid.

Barca will definitely score, so Liverpool effectively need 5 to go through?

Yes.

672 matches. 600 goals? Fuck off.  The Ronaldinho/Messi era overlap? God damn you.

 Why in the world would you slum with us here, man. You're like a Prince in a fucking opium den.

How many goals have we scored as a team in that time? actually don't answer that.

 You go back 600 Newcastle goals and Shearer's probably got fucking hair.

I feel because of the greatness of Barcelona sides gone-by, this current side is considered only through a comparative lens and is therefore undersold quite a bit. Once again all the talk is about the excellent English side who played so well, yet they couldn’t register a goal and conceded 3 against this supposedly sub-par, Messi & 10 others side. I think firstly, just because it’s not a side in the mirror image of it’s predecessors, it doesn’t mean it has to be considered poor, I’ve heard many of the football media outright say that the Liverpool team is better. This is utter nonsense, it’s too lazy to just go Messi is unreal and he carries the rest. What about the excellent Ter Stegen? The brilliance of Jordi Alba last night? All the talk is about Robertson. Alba was excellent. Rakitic & Pique also outstanding. Sure Messi makes the difference in big matches like this, but to write the rest of the team off, and nonchalantly state that the Liverpool team is better is nonsense. Barcelona, the so-called diminished Barcelona have swept aside England’s dominant force who probably played at the peak of their abilities.

Holy fuck

It’s a solid free kick, but no one seems to have noticed it kicks up off Gomez’s shoulder subtly which helps it get the lift. Best angle is 1 min in. Very good but a bit of luck involved.

Think pretty much all the pundits said it came off Gomez' shoulder - it was very minimal fwiw
