Stuff like this makes me laugh like people actually think that was our facilities. Ryan Taylor was asked about this and said they had ice baths etc but they used that coz it was easier in the hot weather.

that being said our facilities were well below what they should have been

They aren't saying the equivalent of "I would take the Venky's over liquidation" they're saying "The Blackburn fans are just deluded, the Venky's would be perfect for us, just what we need!"

Hence people are taking the piss out of them.

fair enough we are essentially arguing over one guys twitter post. I was just trying to find some empathy for them.

Get in, I'm two years away from finally flogging the last of these GUESS WHO WINS AGAIN" t-shirts I have in storage.

If he hires Pardew we’ve got a load of stuff we can offload.

An ice bath in a bin is easier than an actual ice bath because ‘of the hot weather’ …

I can’t remember his exact quote ffs but the players wanted to cool down while staying outside. As simple as that. According to Ryan Taylor anyway (via I think the Gallowgates shots podcast) take it up with him

I always feel someone like Ashley will be good for a club who’s failing in championship.

He’s not good for anyone or anything. He’s a parasite, he lives to leech off others

Is the fat cunt in to buy Wednesday or is he on their wish list as potential owners?

Hopefully there are concrete links because otherwise... well, twerking for Ashley is depressing as fuck

Nice to see some of the Newcastle myths are still going strong.

This was the one that got me.

 Where do you even begin? Bought us as a recent Champions League/Europa-level mainstay and left us bottom of the table having been twice relegated, spent nothing, nor let any revenue be used to improve the club, and used the club as a free advertisement for his tat emporium for 14 fucking years.

The more I read stuff like that the more I'm against democracy. Spectacularly thick cunts.

Never have any strong feelings about them but at this point, I hope Ashley buys them and fucks them over harder than he did us. Sheffield United was always the bigger club anyway.

Hate that narrative and the willful ignorance to just go with it rather than think about it for a minute or do a bit of research.

Its one thing to not know the inner workings of another club - free advertising, one token board memeber, the training ground farce - but surely you notice when a club that's never been in a relegation battle in the PL era is in them most seasons and getting relegated twice.

Its obvious the Venky's are bad owners just from Blackburn's performances under them and its not as stark as with us.

Aside from everything else that's been mentioned we were 5th in the all time Premier League table when Ashley bought us - 40points ahead of Spurs from 42 less games, during his spell we were 70points ahead of Stoke having played 76 more games.

Wouldn't wish him on anyone unless they're pig ignorant enough to want him then they can have at it. Maintain he's only interested in cleaving money out of an established situation and any club he owns will be deliberately less than itself to facilitate that rather than trying to improve anything

So many Wednesday fans thinking he'll be putting money into every aspect of the club, training ground, youth setup, sport science etc... how naive can you be.

I’ve said it before, but I wouldn’t wish Ashley on anyone, but I would like to see him take control of another football club purely because it would prove us right.

What better way of doing it than him owning a club who wish it upon themselves.

I tried to warn them all a few years back, I addressed all the things they are saying now and took them apart individually.

A few of them are saying that he sold us to billionaires, and that he could do for them.

Now I believe Sheffield Wednesday to be big club fallen on hard time, but in the 21st century they have spent over 20 years outside of the Premier League. They have had long spells in the 3rd tier. Their stadium now has no modern facilities, and is described by away fans as a death trap waiting to happen. They have been sold numerous times, and have constantly been for sale. If anyone was going to come in and buy them to reach the top, then they would have done so before, they certainly aren’t waiting for Mike Ashley to give them a boost up.

I honestly wouldn't have an issue if the attitude was "Well, he'd be better than the guy we have now" and if the choice is a club owned by Ashley or no club at all then give me the fat cockney. Fair enough.

The problem is the re-writing history of both Ashley as an owner and the expectations of the fan base before/during his time here. Uneducated, unresearched garbage on both fronts.

Must just be that 99% of the fanbases of the two clubs that have first hand experience of Ashley absolutely detesting the bastard are wrong.

Bet Sheff Wed's fans said that same thing when they hired Bruce - that the Villa fans were totally wrong about him. Went on to shaft them a few month later.
