Ah - it certainly used to at least be the case that a foreign player that lived in the UK for a certain amount of time was allowed by FIFA to play for any UK team, but the Home Nations had their own stricter rule. But that might be, or have been, that they could only play for the home nation in which they resided.

This all came up when Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all approached Jamaican David Johnson.

Ah, that makes sense. The UK being a single country but having four teams. But big Joe lives in England, so we can still dream.

Would be slightly concerned about how easily he gets yellow cards at international level. In prem he's got away with rag dolling a few opposition players with warnings that are probably worse often in international games

I was simply blown away by his performance on Sunday - it was utterly immense - dribbling, passing, finishing, positional play and work rate we’re all first class - he’s an elite PL midfielder - one of the very best

Class interview!

Both love it here and want to be here a long time - believe in the project and we'll win trophies

Bruno's English is unreal - could barely speak a word 15 months ago!

Totally transformed as a player and seemingly as a character, as well.

He seemed really timid early in

his career here. Now he is trying to fight everyone. Gives a foul away every ten minutes and looks absolutely disgusted with every refereeing decision that doesn’t go his way

Machine.

The players have always said that and that he was superb in training etc. But outwardly on the pitch, it quite clearly has.

Not surprising when you think of the state of the club when he first signed.

Feel like he's still not able to get the plaudits he rightfully deserves purely because how amazing we've been but what an absolutely dynamite player he's been for us this year

He's just ridiculously consistent. He's gonna end up on double figures for goals too, which is a great achievement given that he's probably played less than half the time as an outright attacker.
