Did we ‘fuck up’ though? We tried to get one and couldn’t.

We did try, but the fact remains, we only added Wood and didn’t sign another attacker/striker so aye it can be argued we fucked up. We managed to get a RB, LB, CB, Bruno and Wood and had a whole month to bring in a player to cover for ASM or give us another threat centrally up front.

I agree but it's like wishing Mitro was still here.

He needed a rest anyway. He’s been hobbling around for much of the final 30 mins all season. Could have been a blow for us today but we got through with a good result.

The manager is in a position now to start looking after the players. It’ll be good for us later in season so we finish strongly.

Hmmm.... it doesn't sound like ASM and Howe were in total agreement about his fitness. ASM tends to make a meal of it when he's hurt during a game.

What we lost today in terms of his ability to get past opponents, we gained in terms of fluency of passing and teamwork. It's hard to imagine him not starting at Brentford, but Howe has a policy of rewarding good performances, and he may feel the need to assert his position. Ultimately, he decides who plays and who doesn't.

Please keep your deranged and macabre imagination to yourself in future.
