McCormick
I’d happily keep ASM and they can take their sold players back and refund the Saudis their money. Deal?

Memphis
I certainly think the Ruben Neves deal gives us all the cover we need. ASM should be worth at least as much as him given age and potential. Once again, the PL clubs are all fart and no shit when it comes to dealing with these issues. It's going through just fine.
Stottie
I wonder how much strapping Maxi had on during the medical he's just passed. His legs were looking like Boris Karloff in The Mummy last season. As for any controversy over the fee, buying two from darlings Liverpool first was a genius move. Top drawer sportswashing. With the Chelsea lads and Neves too, it's now a plague on everyone's houses. Time to shut up and find another stick to beat us with. "You know, them Geordies would rather lose 4-3 than win 1-0" or some other old condescension. Matt1892
I would be surprised if he even had a medical but if he did have one it was probably like this.

Wolfcastle
Its not fair market value what we'd by buying Livramento for, but I bet that's alright.

Not part of the Premier League or UEFA. So they'd have to go to FIFA, and my bet is FIFA won't want to get involved as that'd mean actual work. Then there would be a court case and CAS and... aye. prefabtoon
So its ok for chelsea liverpool and others to get rid of there dross for overmarket values. But Newcastle try and sell on maxi just to comply with FFP And they loss there marbles. Come on lets get the lawyers out and blow these cry babys away. Viana
They're just making a fuss every chance they get in the hope that we get slapped on the wrist once.
toontownman
Fair enough if we were selling them Fraser or Hendrick for 20m. Just pathetic from the clubs complaining. Not a huge surprise unfortunately. Looks like we took less than market value for ASM.
TheHoob
Wouldn't be surprised if some of the clubs that complained enquired about him once they found out we were selling for £30m.
Infatuation Junkie
Medical will take three weeks apparently. Thats how long it will take to get all his bandages off.
midds
The ironic thing is that the only reason we're selling him to ensure we can comply with the (fucking bullshit) FFP rules in the first place. Ideally I'm sure we'd like to keep him and add to the squad but we're doing it by the book and he's the one that's been sacrificed this summer. As I've said we could be really blatant and shift the dross on for inflated fees but this is a single transfer for a fee that's 'about right'. It's not excessive or disproportionate and no cunt would have batted an eyelid had the money been coming from Milan or Napoli. I understand the scrutiny but there's literally nothing out of the ordinary about the fee for ASM

Pilko
We paid around £16.5m in 2019 for him. If we sold at £20.5m we've basically just sold him at cost, inflation-adjusted. Circa £30m doesn't feel like a stretch at all.
Dr.Spaceman
What exactly in the flying fuck is fair market value if Enzo Fernandes cost 105 million
Ste
How do you define fair market value? Length of contract remaining + how the player is performing, how his fitness is? It becomes opinion anyway, I don't think anything could come of it even if we sold him for £80m. The fact that the figure seems to be around the £25m mark shows we are willing to play well within the rules. Weird little courtroom OBJECTION for other clubs to make for the sake of making it. There are probably rules around the prices, you probably have to cite a similar example. If ASM played for Portugal we no doubt could have said 50M but as he is not an international (I was using Neves as an example as I think him and ASM are similar profile caps aside). There will be rules around there having to cite an example and it will involve international caps and age.
Dr.Spaceman
It's a bullshit excuse to force scrutiny onto the unfashionable try hards who are looking to muscle their way on to the top table. The whole fucking thing stinks.
