Various: N-O has lost the plot over potential end of Mike Ashley's tenure

Getting even more fed up of morons on twitter. Seen some thickets referencing Saudi Arabia's donation to the WHO as proof they're actually not all bad. How can't people see thats the whole point of them making grand gestures, to people will defend their human rights abuses. People are so so so incredibly thick like. Or are some of our lot more than happy to defend that so long as their football team wins. Probably a bit of both like. I wonder if they'd be so eager to jump to their defense if they saw thwe suffering caused in Yemen by the Saudis or had to witness a beheading without fair trial. 'Human Rights' is just empty words to some.

Though on the other hand, I can see why some are annoyed by the hypocrisy of some. Kasparov calling out the Saudi's while publicly congratulating Man City. But howay, pick your battles. Some people are fair game, others arent.

That All With Smiling Faces podcast goes into some depth about the Qatar- Saudi relationship and why people from Qatar are worried about the Saudis dominating the sports over there.

This Keys stuff is coming from above and hes the perfect cunt to do it.

Listening to him is just like Megan Fox whispering camshaft in your ear.

Literally everybody needs to listen to this podcast. Like right now. George Caulkin is an absolute legend and I want to have his babies.

Great listen.  George and Henry Winter are pretty much the only journey I trust and respect.

"Remember everyone, if more people watch and enjoy football for free, the sport as we know it will die!"

I'm personally dead against the Saudis taking us over, but it tells you everything you need to know about the priorities and tone deafness of the likes of Keys that they're arguing against the takeover on commercial grounds rather than ethical grounds, while putting forward the idea that the commercialisation of football over the years - something I think many fans would say is what's sucked the soul out of the game - is in fact what gives football its soul.

I actually agree that "It matters because if theft of sports rights becomes the norm - sport as we know it dies." I just happen to think it was the likes of Sky that stole it back in the '90s and it's slowly died from then onwards. I'd be more than happy for the sport in its current state to die tbh.

This pandemic is going to end the football bubble, I simply can't see TV and commercial deals getting anywhere near the level they once were.  People's spending habits will change, a lot of people won't be able to afford Sky with the depression that's going to happen, businesses will tighten their belts.

Norwich who didn't spend much in the summer, so you'd think their finances are relatively healthy are expecting a £35m loss because of the interruption.

I don't disagree with this, but would point out that the gap between the 'haves' and 'have nots' will also grow, making the sport even less competitive in future than it is at present.

Yeah, that's possible as well.

Probablt giggs but Reuben brothers have released a statement.

“I can confirm Reuben Brothers is part of the consortium, but we have no further comment as the deal is not yet complete.

“On the reasons for PIF’s involvement, that is for PIF (to comment on) rather than ourselves.”

ManorPark is a very passionate person about his city, and the general region.

He has spent his whole life seeing the city and region underfunded, laughed at, mocked, forgotten about, and sacrificed.

His post there was rather passionate, although he always speaks with passion he is always a level headed person.

At this moment in time, the city which he has fought to protect and to better now has a massive opportunity to move on, not least the football club he has supported his whole life.

This is ultimately his last chance to see his city, region, and football club become the things he has always hoped for and always tried for.

In his mind and I’m not going to lie, in our lot our minds, the people out there trying to prevent this are our enemies.

You can talk about human rights as much as you like. On this board, and evidently and hopefully the Premier League have seen that this investment is coming from a private investment company. Ok it may have originated from government/royal family ties to Saudi Arabia, but for all intends purposes it is and always has been ran separately from the government.

I’ve said it before, it’s ok being in London or Manchester and saying we should look elsewhere for a new buyer, and ultimately investment in our city/region. The sad truth is there is nowhere else, there just isn’t, at least not on this scale, and at least not on the scale that is required.

Yes ideally we would all like a billionaire Geordie to buy us and invest in our city. It’s not going to happen though. Ultimately if our government and the private sector didn’t collectively neglect us for consecutive generations, we may have had an economy and the opportunities right here to have created that billionaire Geordie. We haven’t though. Our city and region has had industries and jobs taken from us, we are over reliant on public sector jobs and fairly low skilled and low paid jobs in our economy.

Our football club has been getting robbed by some rich outsider who never needed us, never really wanted us, and has generally been the face of what everyone has been doing to our region for generations.

So yes, in ManorParks eyes, the people who are saying we should reject these opportunities, or the Premier League should take them away from us are our enemies, I’m not sure there is much of an argument against it.

It shouldn’t be lost on anyone from the North East that this is much more than just Newcastle United here.

These are exactly the type of thoughts that supporters should be bombarding the Premier League now. Let’s fight for this takeover and show Staveley we’re 100% behind her in this.

Billions invested in uk economy by Saudi’s and NUFC being asked to the draw a line in the sand. Let that sink in for a minute, where being asked to sacrifice a lifetimes opportunity for people who now pretend to be concerned about a future. Make no mistake if where stuck with Ashley these people will not care a jot and will f!?k off to their next righteous cause.

To old timers like me the thought of the first game after this and 50,000 mags defiantly singing newcastle are back hello, would bring a tear to the eyes after last years.

Let’s fight for this takeover in any small way we can !

All the investment in the club and community will be if it happens brilliantly, and I never want to imply that I don't understand the desperation of the fans for a club with ambition and a region with investment again, indeed I am desperate for that too. I would even go so far as while I am one of the more negative ones, it is too good an opportunity for the area to turn down. The club needs it the area needs it too much to turn nose up at it.

What I won't do is defend Saudi's moral record, and won't think we are owned by nice people doing it out of the goodness of their own hearts. Call me a hypocrite fine but I would rather be that than deny the North East the joy a resurgent Newcastle would be. I just lament that this the only choice, and even that there is no choice to be made. In any sane world the fans would have had the power to oust Ashley a long time ago.

Just sitting in the garden watching a re run of Kelly’s goal v Pompey in 92. Reminds me of what this club is about, a radged up st James, limbs all over, people spilling on the bench kissing the turf, lads next to me from shields, Washington going fucking mental in the east stand.

Point being let’s get a fucking grip over this takeover f!#k your keys, delaneys, holt and Gary fu@#ing Kasparov !

I can understand amnesty’s stance but the above mentioned have ulterior motives, self interest and above all else are hypocriites. We’ve all seen the photo of Delaney in his Man U shirt and Kasparov with emiratis this morning.

These tw$%s have the audacity to tell us what we should do and quote nufc is a community club who should be protected.

Where were these fu%#$rs the last 13 years when we’ve royally been fu#%ed over. I didn’t see any of them writing to the premier league demanding mike to be kicked out.

Speaking personally when this goes through I’ll be going mental like back in 92 !

Newcastle United will never be defeated !
