Various: N-O has lost the plot over potential end of Mike Ashley's tenure

he said verbally agreed...and pcp has exclusivity, so you'd like to think this is just someone telling the press "mike agreed to my verbal offer of X" ... but that in itself could be a breach of contract too.

Now Mike has to start ploughing his wallpaper money in, the c*** is just saying yes to any f***er that calls him with an offer.

This is taking too fucking long man.

Theres a problem somewhere, can smell it.

We're 2-3 weeks into a 4 week process.

It's unbelievable isn't it

It's actually a minimum of 10 working days if you want to be correct.

Also, any other football club and this 2nd bid story doesn't exist. Who the fuck is going to benefit from this story?

Exclusivity until middle of May, aye? I reckon the agreement has come out the blue to other interested parties, but now Ashley has lowered the price others have come in to play, a bit late.

If it falls through he could still sell the club for £283m and still get his asking price as he can keep the deposit. This again may bring even more parties in to play.

Either way, the club will be sold before the new season. It might not be the big money takeover but it could be something everyone can get behind with different owners.

In all honesty, if pif fail the test I could see staveley coming back with different partners or if the Barclays payout is as big as she hoped then solo. After everything she’s been through she’s not giving up now.

It’s never easy at Newcastle United

This stinks of opponents of Saudi deal in media saying hey look newcastle fans there’s another option here. In reality there is no other bid and who ever breaks this story will be interesting.

Or Mike Ashley just being Mike Ashley and doing something he's done countless times now - invent bids and leak them to the media in order to try and perk up interest

It does smack off this - why though? If we're at the stage we're led to believe we're at, it's pointless...

Whoever breaks the story. We're in lockdown with zero sport being played, they need the page visits.

Perhaps Ashley is so desperate for the money that he has a back up group waiting in the wings if this one falls through.

Dont worry, Caulkin will be along in the moment to tell people its bullshit.

Reckon it's big mike doing his best used car salesman shtick, 'take it or leave it love, I've got somebody else on their way over now who's been on the lookout for one of these for years'

Haven't the Premier League more or less confirmed the deal is with them?

This has Ashley games written all over it.

He's a fucking scumbag.

I'd prefer the Saudi's over some pony American Investment Fund/Kenyon every day of the week.

Can't wait to be rid of this fat prick and his propaganda.

The short answer would be no, they used the word "putative" to describe the takeover (which means generally reputed to be).

Although the fact they responded to Amnesty would point to something happening.

None of that would mean Ashley is in a legally-binding agreement where he has to sell though. We all hope this is the case and the noises seem to indicate that it is.

If he has a non refundable deposit clause surely that does suggest a legally binding agreement.

If we haven’t heard anything after the first week in May, maybe then I’ll start panicking.

Click bait perhaps?

Exactly that. It will be bullcrap born out of hairy hands comments and be designed by those who don’t want this takeover to go ahead so they can say to us ‘There is an alternative available’, in fact there is no alternative.
