He's literally the most un-Brentford signing possible. They're data led and sign players on the up within a very restricted wage bracket. Like Brighton the only aging players they go for are unspectacular free transfers - e.g. Ben Mee. The case in point here being they just spent £32 million on a 22 year old Brazilian striker from Brugge in anticipation of replacing Toney. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/feb/14/brentford-announce-30m-signing-of-club-brugge-striker-igor-thiago Edited February 15, 2024 by ponsaelius

This is another issue over the season. Players are being flogged to death to cover the gaps throughout the squad due to injuries and lack of rotation. mouldy_uk
So basically he’s got a broken tit? Thanks for the service Callum, but I’ll be very disappointed if he’s at the club next season (unless it’s as a third choice striker with a very strong backup for Isak) Edited February 15, 2024 by mouldy_uk
Chris_R
Only Callum Wilson could be out for 3 months with a sprained tit.

I'm sure Lewis Hall on for him, with Gordon going up top for 20 minutes would have been better than what we did.

Hall - no idea why we signed him Barnes - Good player, but Gordon is our best LW, Joelinton/Willock, Anderson can play there. Tonali - Bad luck, maybe not the right profile of player though? Livra - Good signing, but should still be playing more. Still think our business was relatively solid. Not amazing, but alright. It put us in a position where we had two competent players in every position and plenty who can play multiple roles. There's still plenty to do. We still have holes all over the squad, but it's going to take time to fill them with quality.
Alberto2005
I'm happy with all our signings this season aside from possibly Hall.
The Prophet
I'm not sure what the inability to rotate has to do with this particular injury either.

Its just another freak injury. Probably only Wilson and De Jong capable of it though.

It was a shocker that we didn't get an upgrade on Miggy, for example, but I don't feel I can strongly criticise until I know what our options were. We seem to have a policy of not just buying anyone for a needed position, which I approve of. If the players we genuinely fancied couldn't be had, I can sympathise. Specifically on Hall, it's worth remembering the only reason we got him was the first season was free. So it wasn't £30m we could've used elsewhere for this season. Sean
The least surprising news ever. This season has been so bad that this doesn't even warrant a shrug. Edited February 15, 2024 by Sean

Superior Acuña
3 goals off being our top scorer in the PL outright, taking over Beardsley. Seemed inevitable but not sure about that anymore!

Individually the players we sign are usually of a high quality, granted the jury is out on a couple of the lads we signed in the summer.
Mikky
So last 15 matches and a further 15 matches still to play, the likely outcome is that we would only have had both Isak and Wilson in the same game week squad on only 3 occasions
Kid Icarus
Sigh I think the world of him as a player but it's time to move on like. An absolutely ridiculous player injury-wise.

Decky
Just seen this news. Fuck I can't wait for this season to be over. I'd be surprised if we get anything over £5m for him, clubs would be mad to sign him with his constant injuries.
Beth
I think he'll be off to Saudi in the summer to top up his pension. £10m is not out of the question if he can pass a medical (big if).
Scotty66
Every injury we suffer seems like it's 2 months + Just absurd. The worst season for injuries for any club I can remember.
