The only possible reason for bringing him on before Osula is for his experience, nothing else. However, that becomes irrelevant when you take into account how slow he's become and completely detached from the game, he can't even get anywhere near the ball, what's the point?

Just a waste of time now. Been great for us, but he needs to go in the summer. Offers nowt at all, don’t think Osula is the answer by any means but at least he brings energy and pace.

It’s just sad because not too long ago Wilson was playing his best football of his career scoring key goals for us to help secure 4th. Just really hurts to see him this way. Love the guy.

Indeed and it's exactly when he should have been sold. Thankfully Kelly and Miggy sales has told me we've learnt our lesson.

It’s desperately sad watching him at this point.  I love him as a centre forward, I think he’s right up there in the PL era for us.  But all we’re watching now is a player reducing his goals to games ratio.  Make it stop.

Arguably it's not doing him much favours in terms of finding a club for next season as well.

Only thing I can think is because he's part of the 'leadership group' and he may kick up a fuss if Osula starts getting his minutes

Seems the coaching setup are a bit blinded by loyalty with Wilson

He started the match against Birmingham, and scored (in a fashion), but in all the sub appearances since, I don't remember him even getting a shot off.

It is sad to see, really. He's just proving that he's not a very effective back up option anymore.

He's always been incredibly confident in his ability for good reason, but recently i wouldnt be surprised if he's disappointed in his performances and decides to hang up the boots in the not too distant future because of it

I could just about accept the "bringing him on for his experience" narrative if we were closing out a tight game, where Osula's wildcard nature probably wouldn't make sense. But the last three times he's come on, we've been 3 goals up, 5 goals up and 3 goals down. You could have stuck a lad from a Sunday morning team on who'd won a raffle and it wouldn't have affected the outcome. Therefore, I don't understand why you wouldn't use those scenarios to give Osula a taste of it and to think of the future.

Who said it looks like he's mentally checked out already? Seems to be the case.

Yes he's aging and has had lots of injuries, but it seems clear as day he's not giving 100% anymore when he does get on. Just strolling around, occasionally threatening to break out into a light jog.

Disagree with that, I don’t think he’s being lazy out there, his body is just done. He can’t use it to either impose himself on defenders and bully them off the ball or to run onto loose balls. He is unable to offer anything at all, although I imagine he can probably still score from ten yards if he’s found in space but that’s just incredibly rare in the premier league

It's really not helping when you're looking for something to go at tired legs towards the end of the game and you bring on captain cripple. He's shot and I can't see him coming back from this now, I'm just really confused as to why Osula can't get in ahead of him, it makes zero sense.
