Doubt it. They will still be guaranteed millions, and if there is truth in how much they were promised, it shows that the UCL and the Premier League are undervalued.

The CL rights are not massively undervalued. The value would be higher if the networks buying the rights knew what they would get each year so they could calculate their ad revenue based on that. With uncertainty the fees will never be massive, that is unless you have a closed shop. That reality is why these cunts wanted the Super League in the first place.

Souness saying "These Americans coming in and thinking they can bring in what they do over there, this is a proper country".

The absolute shade thrown at all of the US

It's interesting how easy it's crumbled. I think it was clearly a very uneasy alliance of motivations. A mixture of:

- US owners wanting a US sports model they can control and ensure long term financial growth without the current risk. Clearly the main architects behind the whole thing. (Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Milan particularly).

- Clubs terrified about the finances and level of debt they have right now and no idea how to service it (Barca for example in particular but most of them to some degree. Inter's owners probably see an easier sale).

- Clubs fearful of the domination of the PL and seeing their own position in the game either at threat or in long term decline for a while (the big Spanish and Italian clubs)

- Those that have been brought in to make up the numbers and have jumped at the chance (Atletico, Spurs, Arsenal for example).

- Those that have joined even though they don't need the money but had a fear of missing out (e.g. Chelsea and Man City)

- Those who have a big grudge with UEFA because of FFP (Man City)

- Finally - some of it is just a work of pure Machiavellian evil (see Perez and Agnelli)

You can basically put all of them in a few categories but not them all. Once it's been pushed the unified front has clearly collapsed like a deck of cards.

I was thinking that this may have been some sort of plan, and in the background some sort of deal had been agreed between these clubs and UEFA, but given that Woodward and Agnelli have resigned just shows that they legitimately thought this was going to go over well and they'd be seen as the savior's of football.

Think they'd rather have us. Hundreds of millions cheaper and with a good manager and a bit of investment we'd be fairly close to some of those sides. Arsenal would only require a modest investment to get ahead of.

Agnelli should have been binned for hamstringing Juventus with a 36 year old at a cost of hundreds of millions.

Probably set them back years.
