I mean.. Surely they could have predicted this? Did they think the backlash would only/mostly be from the fans of pleb teams that didn't get to be in it, rather than the big six fans all hating their own clubs?

They were going to wait out the backlash. Clearly they've shit their pants when the various governments declared their intentions to game the law against them to ensure they would be unable to win any lawsuit and no doubt sponsors and broadcasters started pulling out.

Premier League has totally got away with it. Critical that this lesson is learned from and tighter controls are put on ownership. Hold little faith of it happening though. 

If that cunt Masters and co had any bollocks they’d be drawing up plans to insist on a % of each PL club being owned by fans.
