Takeover Thread - July 1st statement, Staveley letter to Tracey Crouch (and response) in OP

Afraid to say if some other investor does come in, probably too late now for this transfer window, and indeed therefore rescuing what looks to be a dire season with very little squad improvement. Most potential investors will probably want to wait and see if we're in premier league 2021-2022 season so can't see any real interest until january at earliest, and if we are headed down none at all.

Can’t believe some journalist hasn’t attempted to link NB to AS & RB.

I mean, if you believe that NB offered £280m, and AS and RB had previously pledged to pay £30-34m each for a 10% stake... it just seems, with all the other bullshit being written, this bullshit clickbait story writes itself...?

Love the fact they're called that.

"There's a genuine bid for the toon!"

"Wait a minute, these guys look made up.  Are you that dickhead from the Telegraph?"

"No, no, never heard of him these are called the, um, Bellagraph!  Yes, that'll do."

What if we get relegated to Championship and then the Saudi deal can be approved. Then we come back to Premier League like our shit don't stink.

Since I haven't believed there are any serious investors other than PIF for quite a long time, I am not in the slightest bothered about the transfer window.

Am totally resigned to this being over for good now. A small slice of hope it was just a game and they’d be back in if anything changed, but nope, they squared up with Qatar and lost, well they knew they would lose so they bailed out before then.

We’re now stuck with a skint Mike Ashley who wants rid but no buyers. Worst case scenario.

The only positive is that he can’t afford to sell off the likes of ASM as there’d be nothing going for the club once players like him have gone.

It's interesting they're saying 'no need to decide' though, if what they mean is 'we're secretly working on a possible new deal'.

Not really, they're saying that because the bid has been withdrawn imo.

Just read it.  Nowt we didn't already know

- Test is confidential

- No definitive timescale given

- Bid was publicly withdrawn so no need for a final decision

So what did the premier league actually do for 17 weeks.    Sounds like nothing to me and then in june decided to challenge who would actually own NUFC.  Fucking farce!
