Last thing the PL will want at this moment in time is another super power coming in and making the 6 a 7

It's the last thing the Big Six want as well they are all on the same page. Which might explain why this takeover still hasn't gone through over a year down the line.

Masters would do well to align himself with an energized and highly capitalized Newcastle United. + fans back in + money invested into our entire setup + a world class manager - the cartel would be absolutely shaking in their boots over the prospect of facing us. It's something in football that would not yet have been seen.

That's the real reason we're already going through arbitration though. It's as you were...

I don't even think we would be the next Man City or Chelsea it sounds like they will have an initial investment but with slow natural growth based around a one for all all for one blueprint.

I can't imagine the Saudis pumping in all the money once the takeover goes through if they are happy not to own 100%.

It sounds like Amanda had a bonk on for Rafas vision of Newcastle and has spent her time putting together an investment team to carry that out, Masters was instructed by the super6 to delay till they pulled out, that must surely be over now he's been fucked over royally by them

I think they’d follow the Man City model personally and pump in crazy money to get the club to that kind of level quickly and then they would be more sensible using the cash injection from sponsors, TV revenues, merchandise deals etc. to maintain an elite club thereafter.

Then why have additional investors? Would they need to pump in 20% of what the Saudis put in

The additional investors is more strategic than about their money, it’s about their business links and with the Reubens especially their speciality in property investment and sporting events like the Northumberland Plate, held on a racecourse owned by the Reubens. The Saudi takeover of NUFC is more than a footballing project, it’s about building a sporting brand and investing in the region, adding solid assets around that in property and such for long term viability and success. It’s more than just a 1 business only type acquisition to add to their portfolio, it’s multilayered and again, not just about owning a football club/team. They could buy any team if that’s all they wanted and out right. On that front, we should all be delighted because our region will benefit, our city and our sporting culture and infrastructure away from the hollowed green turf at St. James’ Park.

Rattling through the posts tonight after a long day at work, just my 2p worth: The PIF/MBS separation is a smoke screen, just something something PL can hang their hat on to prevent a resurgent NUFC and a 7th team in the offing, the "Big 6" clearly with an ulterior motive for their super league plans and keeping the gravy train running; they don't want those riches they're heavily leveraged against watered down. BeIn clearly hated SA and were stinging from BeOutQ and both these players had a huge sway with the PL.

With tensions easing with BeIn and the 6 blowing their load on a failed European league, shitting all over that PL good will I think their position has to have softened, it can't be an instant approval though PL need to save face.

Secondly I see a lot of people on Twitter panicking about PIF going for one of the 6 now as owners had their collars felt and clubs might become available, I tend to agree with @HTT IIon this one, this was never just about buying a football club, this is a much bigger picture, the ability to rejuvenate a region, to build a legacy post fossil fuel. Even if it wasn't, why would they want to invest in a club for £3b that's leveraged up to its eyeballs in debt based on future revenue during a time of uncertainty? £305m all-in gets you a club in the same league with no debt, albeit with some serious work needed on its facilities. You can build a team and a club to be proud of at a fraction of the price of one of the so called elites.

We just need to actually happen!

That doesn't say they are confident of winning, it says they are confident that there is no financial liability - losing the arbitration leading to the takeover happening does not have a cost to it.

Even if it was about compensation all this is really saying is they think they have at least a 50% chance of not losing, not that they are confident of winning

It's all so boring as fuck. The dullest takeover saga in history. What we need is another bunch of absolute melts trying to form their own league again, now that was entertaining.

I cant even see where it says that about liability.

But I thought they were going to pass the takeover to punish Liverpool?

First they'll need to go to Liverpool's chairman and see if that's ok.

I've now been blocked by him for having the audacity of replying to a comment saying that he steals Ando7s team news from NO.

Perhaps he did receive a text...or could he have gotten anyone to send him it.
