Is it not more how much cash reserves they have rather than their worth? which currently stands at about $62 billion...

Yeah, their "worth" (market cap is ~$2Tn) is meaningless in this situation, available cash reserves is the key number here - if its $62bn then PIF still rule the roost on that one ;)

There’s no chance Apple are buying a sports team. They’ve historically done relatively small takeovers of strategically important supply chain or patent holding companies. The odd time they’ve made bigger purchases is when it plugs what they see as a hole in their market offering (like beats headphones).

Seems to me like someone has just Googled “most valuable company in the world” and linked them with a takeover

This. Beats was their biggest acquisition, and that was for $3bn. As I’ve already said, they turned down the chance to buy the likes of Spotify, Netflix, Disney, and even Tesla. All of which arguably would fit into the holes in the market. They reason they did is because I they cost too much.

Man Utd doesn’t plug a hole in the market. The best they would want out of them is say MUTV to be an exclusive on Apple TV+, Man Utd documentaries, and possibly Apple Wallet integration with ticketing. All of which can be obtained with less costly commercial deals.

When Apple coke along for the Premier League rights deals it will go against them. The other clubs would not be happy with the TV rights being held by the owners of another team.

As someone else has already said, someone has looked at a list of the wealthiest individuals and companies and just throw them in for the clicks.

I don't think this Saudi/Qatar beIN thing is going away any time soon. KSA will keep taking the piss because they know that ultimately there will be no real consequences.

Edit - and I'm not classing anything negative to do with NUFC as a consequence

She's the epitome of dignified. Hadn't realized they're second in the league, that's immense.

Second in the 4th Tier will not be any good, only the team in 1st position is promoted to the 3rd Tier.

They need to get up to 1st place and be promoted so that they can start their long trek up through the divisions to get into the Super League (WSL) in four or five years time.

Yes you are correct , they need to win the league to go up which will put them in Norther premier league (tier 3)

Next Step up is the (Championship) tier 2

Then….

WSL (tier 1)

So it’s not that much of a trek in regards to the number of divisions (should they go up this year)

However in terms of quality they will need to add 3/4 signings in the summer to get out of The Northern premier league (tier 3)

To be honest they played 3 or 4 teams all from the league above in pre season and matched them all despite not picking up the results they would have liked.

When they get to the championship- it is likely they will go ‘full time’ and you will see a dramatic improvement anyway.

You will then see better quality signings and it will all snowball.
