Wasn’t there some speculation last year that Michael Edwards,  the former Liverpool CEO, was a possibility?

Turned us down, and ruled himself out, didn’t he? Although obviously can’t find any link now.

edit:

”Newcastle's new owners were also keen to pick his brains but Edwards politely declined the opportunity to move to Tyneside.”

☝️ could work. At the risk of displaying my ignorance, does having a CEO really matter in a football environment where we’ve got a clear direction and leaders much closer to the ‘business’?

Will be a huge amount of transformation needed from what Ashley left. The backroom departments, negotiating proper contracts etc.

This guy is absolutely class, the real deal. They are head and shoulders one of the best run organizations in American sports, and without a doubt one of the best in MLS. They've nailed everything with respect with maximizing every opportunity to be the best with their fans, get the right sponsors, reinvest money into the team, and showing ambition.
