In the first days of our takeover I'm sure Amanda mentioned he was acting as a defactor Sporting Director due to no executive team. He has also done the qualification so makes sense to take that opportunity whilst he can. I am surprised, I'm sure someone on here has links to him and referenced personal reasons for staying - without dilvuging them. I thought similar tbh. Part of us maturing as a club is building a recruitment structure that has more depth and isn't reliant on a single person who might up sticks and leave for a better offer. In a world where Nickson has become less important here, you can absolutely see why he might be attracted to a job at a more old school club like West Ham where the job is basically find players who suit the manager's taste.
