Rafa finishing top half in 2018 is probably a miracle that doesn't get enough praise. Will always love him, but couldn't be happier with Eddie right now.

Fucking hell 2018? I just want to erase the Bruce (and covid) years and have that being 2 years ago.

Best signing we've made all summer, by a mile.

He's so far been the best manager we've had since Sir Bobby, obviously apart from Benitez there hasn't been much competition though.

He may just turn out to our best ever. I think we've struck gold with this guy.

We may just have got him at the right time. Failure can act as a springboard with the right mentality. I saw a documentary recently, where Gordon Strachan was talking about meeting Ferguson when he became the Aberdeen manager, and realised that he was facing a 'wounded animal'. Beneath that charming exterior, I wonder if that's what's lurking in Eddie.

Always so refreshing hearing him speak. Crazy to think that we're fortunate Emery 'turned us down' as he honestly is the perfect fit to take us fowrard.

we're a perfect match for each other, primed to grow together. Everything points to Howe being a huge success and we will inevitably benefit from that.

People say that we won't replicate the form of last season, which is fair, but it also suggests he was unlikely to repeat that form if he had signed for any other club.

It's fucking Kismet motherfuckers.

i know they were friendlies but the manner in which we showed for ourselves versus Benfica, Atalanta, and Bilbao was huge for me.

Why do you think there is no mention of a contract end date then?

That just made me think of Steve Bruce, that's all.

I'm sure terms will come out.

It's probably already been said, but probably our best signing since the takeover.

I can't think of a single thing I can criticise about his methods. He's meticulous in preparation, knows how to handle his players - they must love him - imagine how you would feel if you were Schar or Burn and you got picked ahead of Botman because you earned it off last season's performances.

He speaks lucidly and with intelligence. He's respectful but firm.

Oh and his football is a joy to watch. I can barely wait for the next match these days.

Don't say any difference between our style under him and Bruce. Fluked another win.

I still can't believe how inane that argument was even after a handful of matches last season.

Love this man! He has every single player giving 110% for the shirt, the effort, commitment and workmate is amazing to see.

Not to mention the shape and turn around in certain players is frightening.

Hope he's here and successful for a very long time - class act!

yes he plays better football than rafa he also has been given Bruno ffs :D it's not a competition lol I will adore Rafa forever for signing on when he did and for doing what he did with class and dignity in very trying circumstances. Shouldn't be remembered as didn't play as good football as after the takeover lol

What this guy has done under a year man. Unbelievable.

Totally changed the culture of the club, the team and the playing style, giving us something to feel positive about in the maelstrom of shit that is living in this country atm.

Bless this man.

Is he better than Rafa?

Football is on a different imho.

Can really compare to be honest. Rafa didn’t have the PIF backing him.

and that’s not to take anything away from the gaffa who has transformed us.

Was thinking today about how much better this team is to watch right now. Just the pressing us such a huge difference to some of the absolute shit we have been served up over the last couple decades. Defend deep and hoof it field, hope something happens and then get back in your shell to defend deep again. Jesus Christ ten years of that shit like.

Now as soon as we lose possession it looks like somebody kicked a hornets nest, it's just relentless until somebody on the opposition fucks up and kicks it out of bounds.

One of my absolute favorite things to watch in this burgeoning Eddie Howe era is how many times the goalkeeper punts a backpass out of bounds under pressure. It's usually good for two or three a game!

I love it, it's the best football to watch imo and in the modern game it's very effective.

It seems so obvious too, but it's obviously a lot harder to properly implament than it seems otherwise more managers would be doing to the same level.

Like most managers wouldn't have seen Joe Willock as a counter pressing machine 7-8 month ago but here we are
