Absolutely no point in having a forum then if you can't question the tactics when he got it so wrong on the day. Eddie is class and can stay as long as he likes, but he got it badly wrong today and people will discuss it.

Pilko
2 wins in last 10 competitive games going back to last season (3 in 17 if you include pre-season games). We've played Arsenal X2, Liverpool and Barca as part of that 10 but It must feel like we've hardly won a game for fucking ages for the players. Hanshithispantz
It feels like a couple of seasons back where would valiantly sit back absolutely shattered and then eventually lose anyway, only we shouldn't really be tired and should be able to press how we want at this stage with the rotating we're doing. Something's off.

andycap
Don't want to call the lad but this 5 at the back formation which worked against arsenal and Chelsea I think has been a disaster since. he needs to go back to the 4-3-3 or a 4-5-1 and have a go at teams we did against liverpool why change for arsenal. Gallowgate Toon
Didn't feel like a back 5 in that first half, Burn seemed to squarely be playing LB which is absolutely ridiculous.
TheInfiniteOdyssey
His method of subs don’t seem to work. Introducing three or even four at once completely disrupts the team and we look disjointed from then on. He’s got to be better at maintaining our tactical cohesion throughout the full 90. Holloway
I suppose having Burn at lb the plan was to double up on Saka but the flaw there is that Gordon is one of the worst tacklers in the entire squad

Sibierski
It feels to me like he’s gone with a pragmatic approach that means less pressing, in order to manage squad output with Europe. But it’s then costing us all attacking threat, which is what’s made us successful in the past. A better approach would be to play some boring possession football in our usual 4-3-3 to take pressing energy off, but Howe doesn’t seem to go that way. It’s 3-4-3/3-5-2 has worked in the past in a couple of big games, so let’s play it more.
Decky
I kinda feel sorry for Howe when it comes to our attackers because we would no doubt have more goals if Wissa didn't get injured. But at least he'll return and get back to full fitness just in time for the November international break. It also doesn't help Howe that Barnes and Gordon have forgotten how to score or assist. I genuinely ask that question and glad that you remind me that he did it once against the gunner last season. Even you agree that he got it wrong today so I don’t think you would want Howe to try this 532 again next game? and sometimes Howe played a very aggressive / high pressing 3-4-3 formation. That’s different from the 5-3-2 park the bus we played on the second half today. Hence I asked that question
pubteam
I do feel we need to evolve, this manic football is not sustainable, leads to injury’s and we always look fatigued in the second half. I’m sick of turning to shit and waiting for the inevitable to happen.
Optimistic Nut
Said start of the season that I thought he needed to start moving away from the likes of Pope and Burn. They're still "fine", but there's better players in their position at the club who I think should be starting if we want to improve and evolve a bit.
