Yeah I guess. The reality is that it's a staple of all the seasons under Howe, there's always at least one stinking run of form.

21/22: run of W1 D4 L4

22/23: run of W1 D5 L2

23/24: run of W1 D0 L6

24/25: run of W2 D4 L5

Then we find our feet and get moving.

I think it'll be harder this season, and we'll be more inconsistent, but you've got to have faith that we pull ourselves together at some point soon. Ultimately it's only the away form that's of any major concern.

And which clubs don't have poor runs of form in a season?  Almost every team in history has.  And the few who haven't have generally spent a ton more than everyone else.

Some people (not you, obvs) talk like there's a black mark against those previous seasons because we had some bad runs.  The only teams who don't have bad runs are league winning teams with league winning budgets.

Considering our away form and congested fixtures, top 7 would probably be the best we can hope for imo (top 6 at a stretch). Especially if Wissa goes to AFCON. I would take 7th right now if someone offered it, although I think we could actually have a chance of winning Europa League if we qualified, especially now that CL teams doesn't drop down into it.

I think the only teams out of our reach are Arsenal and City, everyone else is really patchy this season and we could easily catch them with a good run, I'm not discounting the possibility of a CL place until its mathematically impossible.

I think we need a high scoring striker for that to happen. I know Woltemade will score goals, but I doubt he will be scoring at the same rate as Isak or Wilson did during our best winstreaks. That's why I mentioned Wissa going to AFCON.

We beat every bottom 7 team away last season. Not sure how close we can get to replicating that, and the mid table teams are still an issue currently.

It would be one thing if our results weren't reflecting our performances, but actually we are just very poor right now. If we can restore some of the intensity and get the goals coming we could have a good surge but it's a long way off right now

Absolutely buckled at the fact that @Marxen the Mag has apparently had an account since 2016 but has only now been awakened to crusade against the best manager in our recent history. Like the world's most entitled sleeper agent, presumably @Lucky said the activation phrase: "I love Eddie, but serious questions will be asked..."

Must be coming up to the part of the cycle where someone starts crying that they're being oppressed for having an opinion while they continue to post said opinion all over (repeatedly) on a free-to-access public forum.

I doubted Howe last year, during the tough run when Bruno was playing deeper and Tonali was more the box-to-box. He turned it round and won a cup, the only cup during my lifetime. For that alone, personally I wont doubt him again, I will trust him until he says its enough. Maybe blind/stupid faith, as I said I wont doubt his ability to get it right again.

I'm kinda the same like, in the past where we've been on a bit of a bad run I've thought a few times "he's finished" then he's turned things around. Just a matter of time before we go on a winning run I think. Fingers crossed anyway

You think another manager would have us in European places?

Depends who the manager is but I think Howe could have us there too if he didn’t persist with tactics that are not suited to the  striker we have available.

I feel Lucky is a bit on his own, and the majority of you guys and unfair to him and need to wake up a bit.

Even if Howe gets on another streak, his way of managing is unsustainable and he is now on his second chance to managing CL and there are no signs he has learned and can manage both that and PL.

How's RTG these days marra?

Similar to me then. It was after Brentford away last season where I really couldn’t see how he would turn it around.

I’m not saying I don’t have concerns. As I have quite a few. But I think he has earned a bit more patience and trust from me, for sure.

So yes you do.

I don’t think this squad is good enough to compete in 10 CL games and easily qualify for Europe via the league.  I said at the start of the season we could finish 8th and I could have no issue.

So im still here.  When we are down to 1 game a week I expect we’ll finish the season strongly.
