I think him and Tuchel will do a swap after the World Cup.

The only calibre of manager I think I’d swap Howe for but they’re not available currently, so a change now is a bit futile imo. It must get better asap otherwise it won’t be futile, as we’re currently really shit at football.

Genuinely think Eddie Howe with a full week to prepare a settled team is in the conversation for best manager in the league.

He’s very clearly still not capable of managing a relentless fixture calendar that demands rotation on an almost game-by-game basis to that same high level, though.

I’d argue that he’s as hamstrung by our squad quality than anything in that regard, but to be balanced, he’s had a massive hand in how we’ve used our funds.

We’re so rigid and reliant on partnerships/patterns that we’ve just looked like a mess too often this season when the personnel has changed.

Could write an awful lot more, but can’t be arsed. This season is sucking the life out of me after that cunt of a summer.

I think we have been having difficulty this season in large because we haven't had the confidence that we can score goals.  I think that it's not just effected Eddie but the whole team.  I think we should see what happens when Wissa has a few games under his belt.  If we as a team start scoring goals the confidence will come back quickly.

If it doesn't and it starts to look like it's time for new management I think that we need to remember last summer when our top transfer targets chose to go elsewhere, to places they perceived to be bigger clubs.  I think the same will happen with top flight managers who become available.  We need someone who can consistently make the club outperform it's PSR limitations.  Only Emery and possibly Glastner and Frank are doing that in the Premier League.  I can't see Emery or Frank coming our way and I wouldn't be surprised if Glastner goes to Manure.  So we are looking to the continent to coaches we don't really know.  I think if the time comes I would want to find out if the role would motivate ex Dortmund boss Edin Turzic to step back into management.

But at the moment I would stick with Eddie

I'm not quite in the Howe out camp as feel he has earned time to turn it around so likely to get until the end of the season.

IF we were to make a change I agree with others who have mentioned Inzaghi, proper manager who I think would be a great fit for us.

Think the biggest issue is January as well as we clearly need players to come in however we are struggling as it is during off season to get players in never mind January as we know how tricky January is to do business.

Boy at Palace has done wonders for them as well and could be worth maybe looking at if his trajectory continues possibly?

that's my point. He is the next guy on the assembly line of flavors of the month. Glasner to some smaller degree, but he's obviously won shit and qualified for the CL with Wolfsburg.

There is a touch of flavour of the month, I suppose he's still relatively unproven. But I do like Iraola, I think he's done wonders at a club at that level who are selling their best players. We'll never really know what he's capable of until he gets a bigger club who can buy quality players.

Btw, the best managers / sports people all thrive under pressure and Howe i believe is in that bracket.  I really hate this can't be saying a bad word about him, this is professional football management and he's paid very very well.

I take no notice of those people as you either have to question their knowledge on football or they are plainly sheep. If anyone is being pulled up for raising obvious issues, then it has to be one of the two. That today was a cowards performance and there is no getting away from that.

Still early days for a fairly young guy, but I wonder if Glasner will just jump around clubs after a few seasons.

Is anyone else not bored of us being mediocre to crap for four months of every season? I'm not sure I can stick another one of these where it takes til late December/January for us to play well in more than a couple of games.

It's not even a guarantee we'll do that this year, that todaywas the absolute pits and arguably the shittest of the lot and 2026 is a couple of games away.

For me, it’s even at a more fundamental level in which I hate our style of play in domestic games. We’re just awful to watch and have been for most of the year.

I’d also love to see the league-wide speed/sprint count data from this season, because it feels like we’ve completely lost any edge we had there when at our best and we haven’t improved enough technically to compensate.

Think you might be right.. Which probably would make it a risk.

Think we ideally need someone come the time who will come in and ideally be here for a while and see it as a long term deal like Eddie has himself to be fair.

Think it is all well and good saying get rid of Eddie but the danger is who we bring in just now that's better?

and one big positive of Howe is apart from Burnley, he doesn't jump around clubs. He is the avatar of stability. I'd like a world class manager, but not one that is here for only two seasons before fucking off. Eddie is still the best bet at the moment.

And yet my posts are the only ones you've replied to in a thread full of people genuinely wanting him out, calling me a fruit loop snowflake for...not being sure what my stance is at the moment..? And asking legitimate questions about our performances this season?

If you want to go on the attack at me and me alone, then continue to go for it, but if you're goading me then don't be surprised at the outcome as I really can't be fucked

Your post just happened to be the last in a series which I found exasperating. Not just writing for you to read, as you are surely well aware. Just hoping to reality check or offer an alternate opinion.
