Great effort that and unfortunate not to nick it late on. The tactics worked well.

The CL first phase we've done really well, only would have taken avoiding one of the Marseille or Leverkusen copybook blots to get into top 8. As it is, we've made a very good fist of it and confident we'll navigate our playoff.

Need that tactical awareness in the league. Mix it up more.

Felt like he took more chances because we had nothing to lose. Hope we see more of it.

Did well tonight. Still need to improve in the premier league though.

What a laughably pointless comment.

Just say we did well tonight.

Well fuckin done Eddie Howe… outstanding performance by the lads today… and full credit for tactics and formation… just need that bit of luck again but it’ll come… now only 4 ties to get to the final…

Played the best formation in the game and almost got his rewards. Would love us to stick with that shape and perfect it, Botman, Thiaw, and Burn all have to start when fit at the moment, in their best positions.

I think the formation lead to interchanging too. Hall or Miley into Midfield and the two wingers who were narrow swapping around a fair bit.

If we continue with formation I would like to see Barnes and Gordon interchange so keep defenses guessing but also overloads

Our front players seem suited to the counter attacking style

Weathered the storm and we were wide open through the middle for 20 minutes. But we adjusted and they then really struggled with our shape and out press. Brave as fuck to have one of your CB’s going 70 yards up the pitch.

The subs were then spot on. As between Gordon and Barnes. We had 3-4 decent enough chances and arguably should have snatched it at the end.

He’s also brought fringe players like Willock and Elanga back into the fold. Who did their jobs and performed better than I was expecting. Along with Ramsey who I thought was superb (still needs to release it/get a shot off quicker).

That performance gives you hope that you could mix it with the big boys on any given day. So close, yet so far. Now to just get through the playoffs.

Fair fucking play I say.

5 points from 3 games against PSG

Could quite easily have been 9 out of 9 as well!

Not many teams got as much from them as we have these last few years...

... He also isn't using his squad to manage fatigue, other teams rotate when they have three matches a week, we stick to our 'best 11' every match. That is counterproductive to the fatigue of the 'best 11' and the confidence of the players that only get on for 15 minutes at the end. I know that they get stick on here and there might be eyebrows raised at them starting matches but Willock, Ramsey and Elanga need to be played much more than they have been.

Is Eddie lurking on here? [emoji38]

Be quietish in here tonight. Think we were up to about 8 new pages 20 minutes after the Villa game.

If results like the Villa one prompt shite like ‘it’s over’ should we be calling for 5 more years tonight?

Played a blinder tonight. Shakey start but thought we would’ve been deserved winners tbh.

Agree. Setup looked all over the place in the first 10 minutes but could put that down to the ridiculously shite decision early on.

We often turn up in the big games. Not sure what he needs to do to get Woltemade/Wissa ticking but that’s still the key missing piece.
