Robster
It's great business for an outlay of 35 million tbh. In life, generally, you get what you pay for.
La Parka
"All Bruce targets." You don't say. Them all being British and very publicly available was the giveaway. Besides I really don't think £20m for Wilson is particularly great value. I'd put money on him not getting to double figures. All these targets are massively unispiring. Picking from relegated teams is never a good plan unless they're standout players. Admittedly they're all better than what we have, but at the end of the day if they were better they might not have been relegated. Was a bit different when we went down as they players were clearly good, just massively mismanaged Robertson did alright for himself.
joeyt
There's plenty of players who have been relegated who have been good pickups for teams.

Hell, two of our relegated team were playing against each other in the Champions League Final last season.
Guest
I don’t think the signings are bad at all (still very underwhelmed with the CM options though). Still got that prat in the dugout. I think Howe would have us in a similar league position to last season but we’d at least play better football getting there.

I’m pretty sure we sold a few players when we last went down, who then went on to compete in a CL final a few years later. Anyone who says Sissoko was a stand out player for us is off their rocker too.
Bimpy474
If we had signed Wilson, Lewis and Fraser before the start of last season, we would have been amazed and I've no doubt very pleased. Just because their clubs got relegated doesn't change how good they are.
TheInfiniteOdyssey
I'd be surprised if by the end of the window, our spending isn't partly offset by sales anyway Yedlin, Atsu, Schar, Lejeune, Muto etc.

Collage
Can’t stand the shite on Twitter: ”Excellent signings!!!” No, they’re not excellent, they’re bare minimum, and in the greater context they’re nothing.

toontownman
Ironically it is mainly their wages that are the stumbling blocks. I thought we paid shit wages. We should carry Atsu to Celtic. Muto was such a weird fucking signing. Never got chances really. Obviously wasn't the player Benitez thought he was. I think we should be able to shift the above list without a problem. Its Lazaar, aarons and saivet that seem to be stuck on the sole of the shoe.
jdckelly
if all these deals come off and it looks like they will its an oddly sensible bit of business for the outlay. Given up trying to understand what resembling thinking goes on with the club hierarchy regarding recruitment but it does look like Bruce is calling the shots at the moment which is odd in itself

It’s comparative to the size of the club interested in the player and an indictment of how utterly fucking shit some of the players we’ve had on our books have been in the last few years. See that wretched ginger cunt and Mid-table Championship specialists Forest as an example.
Guest Cheesy Beans
https://www.nufc.com/2020-21html/transfers-bruce.html https://www.nufc.com/2020-21html/transfers-dawson.html https://www.nufc.com/2020-21html/transfers-rafa.html https://www.nufc.com/2020-21html/transfers-mcclaren.html The state of those transfer out. In 5 years we’ve only moved on a handful of players to decent teams, a majority of our players end up in lower leagues or at random foreign teams. toontownman
This signing spree will inevitably end with ASM and Lascelles getting sold.
Dr Jinx
This signing spree will inevitably end with ASM and Lascelles getting sold. Don’t think so. Almiron could be on the bench a lot though, how long will he put up with that though? Lascelles is vital for the back, Fernandez too and I guess Dummett will go between covering LB and CB. Schär for as good as his passing out from the back is, can’t be trusted. Too hot headed and too prone to making mistakes. That’s why Bruce won’t play him. He’d rather have two big lads who just lump it forward.. Lejeune looked excellent at one point in time but he clearly needs time to regain his sharpness and fitness if he even can. He’s had a horrendous time with injuries since he arrived. Maybe he knows the club are fed up with him so doesn’t give a fuck anymore.. who knows. Dubravka Manquillo Fernandez Lascelles Lewis Joelinton Hendrick Shelvey Fraser Wilson ASM Although the midfield will probably be Hendrick Hayden and Shelvey (which is solid enough tbh)

xLiaaamx
Almiron will be number 10, It's ASM who's screwed because I can't see Ritchie not being an automatic starter.
KaKa
Joelinton is the one that's going to get dropped from the first team. It's rough for him, but it was an irresponsible purchase that does not fit in at all with Bruce's more straight forward approach. Bruce wants a striker that looks to get in behind, get in the box and score goals. And he wants wide men that take people on. Almiron will play the number 10 because he's performed well since being placed there.
