Transfer rumours

Islam Slimani is available for a season long loan. Would happily take the lad back over the dross we're being linked with.

If we can't sell Mitro outright, then we could ship him out on loan and bring Slimani in. I could easily see that happening.

What exactly did Slimani show in his time here

Did very well when he came on against Arsenal and looked way more powerful and mobile than Joselu. Not a lot, admittedly, but he's better than what we've got.

I thought we put two of our worst performances in the second half of the season in the two games Slimani started vs Everton and WBA

EDIT: he didn't start against wba. We still didn't play well that day

Half the teams in the Championship have spent morre than us so far this summer.

How can you expect a club of our size to compete with the likes of Brentford in the transfer market.

Would be interesting to see if the likes of Brentford,Millwall or Ipswich went up would they also outspend us

Bit unfair to compare us to such a big club like Brentford mind, Gateshead aye, although they are a pro club like so...

This is the thing like, if we are currently being outspent by clubs in the Championship, questions need to be asked of the club by the PL, asking where the hell has the money gone. He needs investigating big time. We’re proactively not trying to compete.

The Premier League has a very stern penalty for not competing, which is called relegation. There is no requirement to spend your money on transfer fees, and no investigation to be had. As long as Ashley sanctions enough spending to keep the club in the league, which he has shown an interest in doing previously, the TV money will keep rolling and everything is good in Mike's world. If Rafa wanted funds to spend he should have finished 17th.

TBF it says Muto and Rondon.

Two strikers are definitely necessary. NUFC will have the worst strikeforce in the league by a significant margin once Mitrovic leaves.

No chance of happening but I do think Tammy from Chelsea would be a good move for us if the £15m price is true, not that we would spend it. We do have some good young players and the perfect manager for them, it is just so frustrating that we have the biggest arsehole in the world as an owner as with just a reasonable investment we could be a good young exciting team that could grow together and become a team to be proud of in the next few years.

But I suppose dropping down the leagues with some washed up stooge as a manager could be fun as well

Yoshinori Muto has flirted with a change in the Premier League already in the second half of last season. In the meantime, this summer it looked like there would be no corresponding offers for the World Cup participant. As the Japanese agency Kyodo News reported this Wednesday, it could now go fast. Muto is said to join Newcastle United.

Once the Japanese could play at the World Cup for his country, in the 0-1 against Poland (kicker rating 3.5). He could not really do any advertising for himself - so it was internally the idea to extend with the 26-year-old for a year, and then cash in on the next summer. Ultimately, but now a mutually suitable offer for both sides should have arrived. From Newcastle United. Muto's request from the Premier League is within reach.

An official confirmation is still missing, but as the kicker learned in consultation with the Japanese colleagues, the transfer should be almost in a dry towel. In the 2017/18 season, the striker scored eight goals in 27 games and prepared four more
