Realistic Transfer Targets (2025/26)

Around this time I like to look at potential targets from clubs that could be relegated. We've bought players in the past from relegated clubs (Tino, Barnes, Pope) but we're probably moving away from that. Haven't really factored in cost more just player profiles we may be interested in:

Wolves

Hugo Bueno - good age at 23 and can cover both right and left back positions. Was impressed by him at SJP but haven't seen a whole load of him and I don't think he's even been a regular for Wolves until recently. He might count as being homegrown too despite being Spanish (have to check that). Probably the Manquillo esque player we could do with in the squad

Matheus Mane - playing regularly for them and only 18 looks a real talent

Andre and Joao Gomes - both are Brazilian internationals and good ages. Neither have really stood out to me but might be just because Wolves are pretty rubbish

Burnley

Maxime Estève - regularly linked to Spurs and other Prem clubs, good age at 23, rated really highly by Burnley fans and think he'll be on the move this summer

West Ham

Jarrod Bowen - probably too old to get any resale value and not sure how much he'll want to leave West Ham even if they go down but a younger version of him would have been perfect for our right hand side

Crysencio Summerville - would only be if we got rid of one of Barnes and Gordon but I've always liked Summerville

Mateus Fernandes - could be two relegations in a row for him but could be a midfield option for us

Soungoutou Magassa - not been a good season for him but he was highly rated before joining West Ham and he's only 22

Nottingham Forest

Murillo - left sided centre back with good distribution and only 23

Neco Williams - not a sexy name but someone who can cover both full back positions and only 24

Callum Hudson Odoi - still somehow only 25 and an option should we need a left winger

Morgan Gibbs White - will be 27 next season so if he's going to make a move to a bigger club it's going to have to be sooner rather than later

Elliot Anderson - being earmarked for one of the Manchester clubs but will throw his name in there anyway

Tottenham Hotspur

Lucas Bergvall - rumours he was linked with Chelsea and Villa in January, only 20 and loads of potential there

Archie Gray - not wholly convinced by him but only 19 and covers a lot of positions

Dejan Kulusevski - hard working right winger, always really liked him but been out injured for ages

Djed Spence - England international who can play both full back positions

Micky van der Ven - fast centre back option, will be v expensive you'd imagine

Mohammed Kudus - would be really good for our right hand side if he can stay fit

Pape Matar Sarr - didn't realise he's only 23 - never been that convinced by him but could be a midfield option

Leeds United

Jayden Bogle - another unsexy name but he's been really good for Leeds, can cover full back positions and only 25

Brenden Aaronson - seems to be finally finding his feet in the Prem and played really well against us but not sure he'd fit well here

Gabriel Gudmundsson - looks a really good pick up from Lille with a nice delivery and crosses. Could be a good alternative to Hall

Ethan Ampadu - omly 25 but a real leader than can play defensive mid and cover centre back

Pascal Struijk - Leeds fans think he's one of their best players - I can't say I've really noticed it but throwing him in there

Anton Stach - German international, midfield option with a good set piece delivery. Can't see us being interested in him

Dominic Calvert Lewin - looks fit and firing again and feels like he's older than 28

Gudmundsson might be someone who's not too bothered being backup to Hall, could see it.

Spence would be amazing cover for us but I don't really understand why his stock hasn't gone as high as it looked like it would.

When i have seen him play he dont work for the team. He wont run back and just gives up, seen this all games from him.

Do not buy 💩

Just saying after this week's action, but if we're going into the summer looking for a keeper signing, Chelsea and Tottenham will likely be looking for one too.

Our last two summer windows started with Chelsea snatching Tosin, leading to the Guehi debacle, and them getting Pedro (and Delap) and leading to our striker recruitment runaround. I sincerely hope this does not happen again. It should not be assumed that we can just cherry pick who we want, especially in a thread entitled "realistic".

Atletico Madrid are willing to sell Argentina forward Julian Alvarez, 26, to a club in the Premier League provided they pay £85m, but will not allow him to join Barcelona. (Sport - in Spanish Press)

I wonder if Howe will go back in for Mbeumo at the end of the season, he doesn't seem to have settled at Man Utd and apparently the fans have turned against him.

Not sure we could afford his wages.

He's had a good season imo. Starts every week and scored 9 in 24. He's doing fine there and won't be rushing to move

According to Goal: https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/julian-alvarez-salary-atletico-madrid-star-week-annually-laliga/blt28394a299e261307

Under his current contract at Atletico Madrid, Alvarez earns £113,859 ($149,049) on a weekly basis.

Meanwhile, his annual salary amounts to £5.9 million ($7.7m).

DO IT !!!!!

That article states Capology as the source, but if you actually look at Capology it has him on in excess of £200k, which feels more realistic.

!? Find that difficult to believe? Until the last month or so he’d been their best player along with rat boy.

That site has Bruno getting £200k a week with Bonuses - so if true it's not a million miles off

note: it has Wissa getting £140k base :scared:
