Chris_R
Trippier's too short to be a centre back, surely? No thanks.
Rod
Lloyd Kelly man! Why do you think we signed him? And why do you think he's been on the bench forever (part of the squad)? Why do people think we are going to play a right back at centre half when we already have a centre half? Does my head in some of our fans. Happy New Year! Nucasol Posted Wednesday at 07:31 Share Posted Wednesday at 07:31 Newcastle United are looking to offload right-back Kieran Trippier in January, according to the Sun. The St. James' Park hierarchy is believed to be keen to move the 34-year-old on to help remain aligned with Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules, and clubs in LaLiga, Serie A and Turkey are all said to "registered interest" in his services. Trippier has made 11 Premier League appearances this season, starting just five.

He’s been quite important recently but with Krath coming back if we can move him on and that helps recruit in more urgent areas this month then fine 👍 Edited Wednesday at 07:38 by ExiledGeordie
AyeDubbleYoo Posted Wednesday at 12:08 Share Posted Wednesday at 12:08 Can’t see much PSR impact of selling Trips. Won’t he go really cheap?

Plus a nominal fee. Add that to possibly Miggy, Dubs and *maybe* Longstaff and the club have cleared the decks for one incoming. Maybe the Lens CB. Sibierski Posted Wednesday at 12:31 Share Posted Wednesday at 12:31 (edited) Think if Trippier has got things balanced off the pitch and won’t be distracted, we may as well keep him to end of season. If he’s happy to take substantially lower wages, wouldn’t be against a new one year deal as back up to Tino. But if depends if he wants a longer final contract and move either closer to his kids or elsewhere for a fresh start and a final football experience before retiring. Obviosuly depends who becomes available this month but what do you think their preference is position wise? I guess both R CB and RW need upgrading eventually. Obvious position that needs an incoming with no obvious bolter from the under 21s. Spent all summer trying to sign Guehi too. That said, that RW upgrade has the potential to snare us Champions League…

alexf Posted Wednesday at 21:13 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:13 Have to say, as fine as he's been the last couple of games. I want Tino back in for Spurs. They play a fast paced attacking game and I don't really wana see Son Heung-Min taking the piss out of Trips again. I think Tino will deal with him far better. Checko Posted Wednesday at 21:27 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:27 (edited) Match cam had a shot of him walking off & being substituted. It doesn't usually do that. Wonder if that means anything, or if it was just that we basically did largely fuck all but defend for the last 55 mins of the match so they needed some filler.
