The main problem I've got with Botman is he seems to be too big for his boots in the way Isak was. He will jump at the chance to leave if someone comes in for him

 

Its a shame Dan Burn isnt 5 years younger cos I don't mind at all a back 4 of tino thiaw Burn and hall

Just as posted in the match thread - he has been either injured or average since the 4th place finish season to be honest and is living off past reputation.

 

Would not mind seeing him sold next summer if he continues like this.

I am not convinced at all that he should be our long-term LCB. Not mobile enough, and aerially not dominant either. Also, there is an issue with his lapse in concentration.

Like I said in a couple of other threads. Pope is getting all the stick. Yet Botman was far worse.
 

For someone who wants a new deal. He isn’t really playing like he deserves one

I keep saying I prefer Schar - Burn to Thiaw - Botman. We just seem more rugged.  
 

I think it’s Botman primarily. Burn is the more effective CB atm.

He looked a bit shattered last few games, it's his first time playing this many back to back games in two years.

 

I think we need to rotate more smartly now that hall is back between him and Burn.

Pretty sure he expected his keeper to come out for the 3rd. Seems Ramsdale not that kind of keeper though.

Also think the equaliser was more on Pope as he came out when it was risky and didn’t touch it.

I'd stick with Botman. He’s the future and good enough for the present.

Difficult to judge the players at the moment really. He looked rock solid few games ago.

I think we miss Schar’s presence back there and I’d prefer Botman was the one to make way. Even if that’s not how Edward likes to do it.

Nah he didn’t see the striker. Lazy play.  Bad to see.

It doesn't help that his best attribute (playing a really slick pass into midfield or the forward line) feels like a suicidal move when all bar Woltemade can't seem to hang onto the ball and as soon as they lose it the opposition are bearing down on us with players out of position.

It really riles me seeing Dan Burn getting called a carthorse for playing left back. Put Botman at left back and see how he does.

 

Our cup final scoring centre back isn't picking himself at left back. He deserves more respect than being called a carthorse

I do hate defenders whose best attribute isn’t defending.
