Any news at all about what is wrong with him?

Sore back. Eddie said post-match he hopes he’s available for Tuesday but not 100% sure.

So sloppy but you can see why you try and have a right footer on the right and a left footer on the left (Burn made a similar poor pass just before the goal when he switched). The passing lines are completely different when you're on the unnatural side.

I think next season he needs to be a squad player, got far too tight to Brobbey yesterday 4 times in first half and got turned, he seems to do it a lot, I remember DCL and solanke turning him in Identical scenarios as well.

I have no idea why he engaged him so often, he got ragged about every time. He was lucky he got knocked out really.

Don’t think he was done any favours by being played on the right, but dear Christ he was fucking shite. Burn barely any better, like.

The way our midfield sets up only works if out defense can push up but they lack pace and drop off creating loads of space in front of them. Been an issue for awhile and a factor in us concerning loads of goals.

All of our centre backs got done over by Brobbey for most of the game.  But Botman just got ragdolled by him.

I know he's a unit.  But your CB's shouldn't be getting dominated like that in physical battles so often.  I know we like to play that way in how the CB's engage forwards.  But FFS, do any players adapt and act as the coach on the field nowadays?!  You could see it wasn't working from about 4-5 minutes in.

He got thrown about like a wet tracksuit by Brobbey yesterday, I wouldn't be at all fussed if we sold him, he's a far cry from his 22/23 self

He approached the battle with Brobbey wrongly but I still think he’s generally a very good CB.

In hindsight Thiaw was the one that was best suited to handling him.

Yeah I think the next time Botman gets a consistent run in the team (which - in the final run of the season - is dependent solely on staying fit, you'd think), he'll demonstrate that he's the best CB on our books, as he has done before. When he's in and out the team his form is patchy. I do share the frustrations about him not showing enough for us on the whole. Hopefully get a big season from him next year.

This is the worry I think all our centre back look dodgy as fuck. For all Thiaw can look like a Rolls Royce at times, I don’t think it’s any coincidence we’ve shipped so many goals with him playing.

He is still quite raw.  But he looks fucking rapid and defends really aggressively a lot of the time.  I agree with you.  I think he would have been perfect for us.

Yep, wouldn't be disappointed to see 2 new centre halfs in the opening line up in August myself.

Botman and Thiaw as back ups. Schar (unfortunately) and Burn (great signing at the time) need replacing with younger legs.

Then we'll need 2 RBs and a back up LB too 🙈

It's boring how extremely well-run Man CIty are. They already have a decade of advantages - now they have to be ruthlessly efficient in every aspect?

Even last summer, Reinjders - fairly cheap, as were Cherki, Ait Nouri and then Guehi and Semenyo
