If we can get an interested Rashford he’d be an amazing signing. First choice striker who can play one of the wide areas (or vice versa) if needed is the sort of player we’re missing.

I don’t doubt that with Howe, Trippier and the general vibe at the club at the moment we’d get him firing. I’m not sure I can see us shelling out for him though and I can see us going to the continent for targets. They may ofcourse go back in for Lingard again who is tried and tested as a winger and available on a free to play on that right side.

You see I don’t agree with the tried and tested bit towards Lingard, he’s not regularly played for years. He has had a good loan spell and is getting on now. I thought it made sense back in January, but I think there'll be better, younger options available in the summer

That’s a fair point. It’ll be interesting to see who we go for in various positions to be honest. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a mix of some premier league ready players and a few from abroad.

I’d reckon the summer buys will be “names with potential” that won’t be household names - not many of us would’ve heard of Guimaraes, Botman and Diego Carlos prior to our interest in them. So our summer shortlist will be more of that ilk. Dan Ashworth supposedly joining us points to that too. Expect “moneyball, but with a higher budget ceiling” kind of signings. Lesser-known, younger, hungrier, less ego and more willing to prove themselves, good characters. Basically the opposite of Eden Hazard.

Yup. I think we'll be ran similar to the likes of Dortmund or Atalanta just with a bigger budget.

The players we go for should be in the 20-24 bracket as we currently have one of the oldest average squad ages in the league.

I've never been completely convinced about Rashford, either as a wide player or as an out and out striker. He's okay at both but doesn't excel at either. I also worry that all the attention has gone to his head a bit, but maybe that's unfair.

If Eden Hazard is fit and the fee isn't extortionate, I'd definitely take him. He could be our Beardsley. A good player in that role can make a big difference.

Lol. He hasn’t been fit for years man. And when he does play, he’s not very good. Definitely on a downward trajectory.

Out of form flair players are always a bit of a gamble, but I think if you can get them interested in playing football again there are great rewards to be reaped. Think Coutinho for a recent example.

Hazard is obviously brilliant but he’s 31, often injured and would cost a kings ransom.

I wouldn’t be unhappy or say no, but I would prefer we bought someone who is younger and can improve.

Also, on a related note our signings this summer will be so interesting. I wonder if Howe will look to change shape again once he can reshape the squad.

Coutinho hasn’t been out of form- when he’s played he’s been very good. He’s just been injured and therefore seen as a waste of money for his high wages. Hazard has been injured but it’s also well publicised he doesn’t look after himself off the pitch, leading to weight and fitness issues

Would mean that 1 of our midfielders in the 25 man squad is away in the summer, unsure on who if we do go for him. Kamara, Bruno and Joelinton on his current form is some midfield. Kamara and Bruno both rank in the FBRef 90-95 percentiles for passing in the top 5 leagues.

I think we still suffer from the past 14 years where having multiple players who can do a job in one position seems like madness but all top sides have great players on the bench.

Jamie Reuben liked a reply to it saying "Why are we still going for Kamara ???" so I'm not sure about that one.

Aye, saw that. Shame tbh. Longstaff shouldn't be near the squad next season and should be moved on imo and Shelvey shouldn't be starting.

I'd walk away from any fee above £25 million at the very max with a load of clauses on top to bump up the fee in the event he turned it around; we have to consider that he is currently about 6th choice to start at Man U. As a player he is on par with Delli Alli, they are of a similar age, as someone who has completely lost their way and possibly never going to reach their potential.

Hes definitely not on par with Alli, like

He's came off the back of two good seasons in a row getting 20+ goals in both of them.

Pour this season no doubt, but you could count on one hand the number of Man United players who haven't been.

He scored 11 Premier League goals last season. Decent return but nothing amazing. His only good return in the Premier League was the season before when he scored 17.

He's on par with Alli as they've both lost their way. Granted Alli is further down that path but Rashford has been a regular now since 2016/17. Apart 2019/20 season he hasn't really pushed on at all since he came on the scene.

I'm not saying he's a terrible player, just an average player when you look at his stats in the

Premier League and who he plays for.

Still linked with Seko Fofana aren’t we? Can definitely see us signing a specialised DM to allow Bruno to maraud up and down the pitch.

I read today that he is signing a new contract with Leicester.
