Chris Wood (now playing for Nottingham Forest)

Surprised to see this thread wasn't bumped from Sunday.

I know, I know he's shite yada yada but his 10 minutes against Spurs was cracking and helped us see out the game in a comfortable fashion. Won a couple of free kicks, held up the ball etc.

Well done Woody lad, same again if we need you please.

Question is when  do and can we peddle him.

We would have to give him away due his wages. He'll be here till his contract runs out in the summer of 24.

With any luck he’ll be remembered as someone who came in, did a job in helping keep us up, was a decent way of seeing out a game off the bench in our transitional season into a European team, and then leaves to see out his career as a starter somewhere. Massively unfair to compare him to the likes of Rivière and Xisco imo. He’s obviously limited but grafts and I hope in 10 years or whatever he’s looked back on somewhat fondly as a small part of the start of our real resurgence

Not 1 single issue with Wood -- last season he was vital in the run-in; this season he scored in the cup game and finally he's done the job needed to close out games each time he's been called upon this season.

If we do get into Europe this year, hes perfect for away games against some of the minnows. Leave Wilson at home.

Yep, not only that but let's say we have Wilson playing league games and we want to get Isak in scoring in Europe, in order to leave Wilson at home, we could do with Wood from the bench as a sub or an option.

That's not to say we should look to sign other options. That's why Joao Pedro made sense because he's another one who can play in various positions.

On the other hand, if someone comes and tries to sign him, we should say thank you very much and let him go. I can see a Fulham or a Bournemouth seeing him as someone who could see them over the line to avoid the drop.

That's how I think of him now.

A modern day Sheedy/Kilcline that got caught out in the level and speed of resurgence.

Gutted he missed that, good run and got into the perfect position, his confidence must be in the floor. Lucky we’ve got the best manager to pick him up after, still think he’ll grab a couple before the end of the season

Can’t wait to get shot of this cunt. Wilson must have been spewing watching that chance go to him.

Would have had a hat trick so close to the WC.

Absolutely no need to be calling any of our players cunts like. This is a united team for the first time in ages with every member of the squad contributing to that - could see that today in Lascelles' big grin from the bench after (I think) the third goal. Wood is limited, we all know that, he's trying though and deserves support as do the rest of the lads.

Eddie's "no dick-heads" rule should really extend to us as well, we can be better and don't have to become entitled just because we're seeing some success for once, let's leave that to the "big 6".

He doesn't have a future but I wouldn't risk iask or Wilson in early rounds of cups... he'll do the noo.

I'm not gonna be a decent person and you can't make me.  Twat.

Gutted he fluffed that chance because that was some incredible bulid up play. Ultimately the lad is just not good enough. In fact he's miles away. I think that if Wilson got injured for these next 3 games Howe would play either Murphy or ASM up top ahead of him.

Loved that 2nd half today. We were incredible at times and they couldn't live with us. My only gripe is clowns shouting "shoot" at Bruno every time he gets the ball but nothing at all to complain about on the pitch.

To put the signing into context he was ultimately bought for what he is currently doing, the fact we weakened our rival in Burnley and sent them down, not to mention the important goals he got last year with very little service  I have absolutely no axe to grind with him.
