A trophy winning Newcastle captain who personifies everything you want from a player and captain, and who came here when we were at the bottom of the table. Sometimes he's taken for granted tbh. Absolutely. If he isn't, who is?
AyeDubbleYoo
I feel the presence of Woltemade is really helping Bruno get higher up a score/assist more. And yesterday was without Sandro as well, tasty.
Toon1984
It was a head in hands moment when he missed that header but his run into the box for it, together with the build up, was a thing of beauty. Delighted he made amends at the end. Big goal.

I've no doubt it looked that way and yet, who was there to pounce on Osula's parried shot in the 90th minute, gambling again and being in a critical position to win us 2 extra points. Maybe he got a second/third wind or something
Ed Vinegar
Got sent his players tribune article this morning, it's a great read if any of you haven't seen it yet. https://www.theplayerstribune.com/posts/bruno-guimaraes-brazil-premier-league-newcastle It's from a few years back but still. Very heartwarming.

With the height in our team, we should be putting more headers away. Two relatively simple ones yesterday alone.
huss9
he's been talking about the flight to japan for the recent brazil friendly. initially had to turn back two hours into the flight due to cracked windows. wait for another plane, then fly out again. 30 hours in all. must have affected his performance on his return. Joelinton is probably the best player we have at winning attacking headers but his placement of them is all too often just off target.

NSG
For me he’s above Shearer, and I’d never thought I’d ever say that about a player. I’ve never seen anybody, with absolutely no connection to us before signing, embrace the club, culture and city as much as he has. Plus, he won us a cup. He’s immortal (unless he fucks off to Liverpool). Edited October 27, 2025 by NSG
Kanj
Having read that article on the athletic about his goalscoring + thinking back to his goals for us, i think there's a major shout at him shifting from the right sided 8 to the left sided 8. 1) his goals scored often are him opening up and shooting with his right foot near or far post 2) threading balls thru for Gordon and combining with Sven, Hall/Tino, Gordon/Barnes, Woltemade Then you move Tonali as a right sided 8 and allow him to be his all-action Italy national team self; playing a lot of first time balls in space and combining with Thiaw, Trips/Tino, Elanga/Murphy/Barnes. I think those players would benefit from the instinctive stuff from Sandro. Sandro also combining with Woltemade / Wissa and gets him further up the pitch to use that wand of a right foot of his. Also if Trips is playing, you have Sandro's recovery speed and reading of the game to mop up there. This also assumes Miley plays the 6 role. I think Ramsey and Joelinton can come in and we can shift Sandro/Bruno around of course.

Shearer, Bruno, Beardsley, Rob Lee on my current lifetime Mount Rushmore but Bobby Lee is looking the most susceptible to being chipped off and replaced. Just below that you’ve got Shay, Sir Les, Andy Cole, BDB, Tripps, Fabby. However, if he stays another 2-3 seasons then Sandro could be an absolute lock. Super Duper Branko Strupar
I'd remove Gazza, just because of his short time and where we were. Obviously talent isn't the only factor in this decision otherwise he'd clearly be in. Shearer, Pedro, Lee, Bruno, then Speed or Burn. I'd always have Gazza in because he's probably the most talented footballer the North East has ever produced, brilliant for us and England for years. Yeah, he only played for us for around 3 years (he didn't play more games for anyone else, 92 in total, same amount as Spurs) but I saw a ton of those games live in my teens and he was utterly incredible. In many ways, Bruno is his current era version. Almost unlimited passion and desire, allied to fantastic ability and will to win. Peas in a pod from entirely different eras and backgrounds.
