Like I’m delighted for him, but for an England POV, it’s not great and the squad in general is a mess.

I don't mind Tuchel being a bit left-field, especially against some relatively poor sides. We'll be less messy when it really matters, injuries aside.

Also, I wish we didn't use him as left back for so long.. Rock solid as a centre back, just like he was for us  right after he signed. Maybe he would have gotten the callup earlier, but probably not during Southgates time anyways.

Guy can’t pass a ball. England will be about having the ball and high line, surely you get where I’m angling here?

I mean ... this just isn't true though is it.

He's not some ground breaking passer of the ball, but he is solid enough distributing the ball, and is comfortable on the ball too.

Also, Tuchel doesn't play that progressive a style. He can actually be quite pragmatic with his setup.

Tuchel:

"With Dan I have spoken, it was a very impressive phone call. Very impressive messages which made me very comfortable in this call-up that we will pick a top team players that will help us to build the right team."

"Dan is maybe a little bit overlooked. A very impressive career, a very solid player. He plays regularly for Newcastle, for a Champions League club. He is a leader, he is a very solid defender. Very different path into the England squad but we are happy to have both of them (Burn and Lewis-Skelly). I am happy and excited to get to know them and hopefully they can prove us right."

If anyone was going to guess on a random Newcastle inclusion in the England squad, everyone would have said Murphy.

At a push, Miley (if wanted to blood him around experienced players).
Don't think anyone would have put money on Dan Burn - but he has genuinely been solid so it's well deserved.

Makes me think Tuchel could be very refreshing, as a foreigner he's less naturally biased and exposed to the Southern media nonsense as much as an Englishman.
Plus Tuchel has always thought highly of Newcastle as a club, even contemplating coming here before McClaren I believe? Or post Rafa, I forget which.
