Villa are absolutely turgid this season, a grim watch every time I see them. Plenty of talent there as well.

Extremely rigid and seemingly despite buying a load of midfielders they opt not to play with a midfield at all.

Gerrard and Lampard man. Prime examples that being a great player playing under great managers doesn't mean you can do it yourself.

Lampards done a respectable job at Everton.

Gerrard is fucking clueless. Absolutely limp as fuck considering the attacking options he has.

Jacob Ramsay absolutely wasted playing deep too. Would love us to go and get him in a year or two.

Ohh I want Jacob Ramsey so much. Oozes class. Has the potential to be in the England set up. He won't get anywhere near playing in a Gerrard team, though.

Yeah, Lampard has done alright this season, realised his players are somewhat limited, and needed to shore up at the back to counters, so bought players to suite that game plan. Coady and Tarkowski are defensively solid if unspectacular CB's which you know you can rely on, and the fact they've conceded the least goals so far this season shows it's proving dividends.

He's also done a bit of an Eddie and made sure everyone he's recruited are solid honest pro's, night and day to the recruitment of Gerrard who seems to have just gone after names without any semblance of a plan.

We destroyed 10 men yesterday…Villa haven’t got a clue since Leeds went down to 10 men.

They made out we were only winning because of the advantage, we wouldn’t have been far off with 11 men on.

Lampard > Gerrard

Lampard made the standard so low last season, that he’s now achieving.

Lampard gets a lot of stick for the whole "fight, passion, desire" stuff that he obviously went on about too much, but the point is he was right. We were utterly pathetic last year, now we're far harder to play against. So he deserves a lot of credit for doing something about our main issue, even if it was glaringly obvious.

He's got a lot to prove still but there are clear signs he's going in the right direction.

Still pretty turgid going forward but that will come with time.

Looking forward to tomorrow nights game. A big game for both.

Well looking forward might not be the best choice of words. Interesting nonetheless.
