Steve Bruce Roadshow: Dates in Hexham and Blackpool announced.

He couldn't even stay on and give young managers advice, 1000 games and nothing to show for it, two promotions with other people's teams and sacked multiple times in October/November meaning his summer transfers were poor season after season, a joke of a manager that improved nobody except himself.

Fucking weapon!

As soon as tactics, analysis and attention to detail became the norm in football management/coaching, Bruce was finished. Most of his 'success' came 10-15 years ago and funnily enough he's been an abject failure ever since. Shame to let facts get in the way of a good story though, eh?!

Seeing all the thousands of hills in the world to die on, and Edwards chooses to paw his way up Steve Bruce's bloated corpse.

Bet he’ll pop up in Qatar next month. Catch him the stands taking in a match, pundits will fawn over his “dedication” to the game.

The cricket World Cup starts this month, guarantee he'll get himself tickets for that

The man who refused to take up his job at Sheffield Wednesday until after England cricket had finished their West Indies tour

And then screwed them over to come here as a thank you.

"Bruce admitted he tried to change too much, too soon when he arrived, so it took six games for his first win; 2-0 at Hull in early March, by which time early talk of still pushing for the top two and even the top six was quickly dissipating."

Two of his eight WBA wins were against Hull, it seems everyone there still has a soft spot for him.....

God remember when he felt what was most important was dismantling the extremely competent defense Rafa had put together. He comes into the job and smashes up the good bits of what came before and then just eats all the bacon rather than do any other work. The only fucking work he is willing to do is undermine others good work.

Has he commented yet?

Shall we have a sweepstake as to what he mentions first?

Lofty ambitions from the fans?

Players not good enough

'Lady luck' not shining on them?

Bacon was crap

Not enough defenders scored to take the burden off the strikers

INJURIES

Empty stadiums and Willock's purple patch got him out of the shit in his second season. If either of those aspects did not happen he would have took us down for certain.

Will never understand those who try to re-write one of our bad managers' histories. Dalglish, Gullitt, Souness, Kinnear, Pardew, Schteve and Bruce can all get in the bin.

I can't bring myself to dislike Gullitt, granted he was shite for us but walking away without a pay off gets him a lot of credit in my eyes

I've been through the Dalglish situation on here a few times.

It’s interesting that McClaren was probably the most likeable (or least unlikable) of that lot, yet he probably did the worst job of anyone considering circumstances and players at his disposal.

*not really counting Kinnear as that was all just madness

Steve Bruce has had a good career. A more lucrative one than his talent has deserved.

He was pap for us and ruined any good will he might have had with the fans.

He's done as a manager at a higher level.

*whispers* he wasn't the worst manager we've had in the last 20 years.

His lack of success after us doesn't affect his performance for us.

He did ok points wise with Rafa's blueprint and better investment. When that stopped working, he had no clue.

Whether he won promotion with WBA or did as bad as he did, that has no impact on his time with us.

Likewise, what happened to Rafa at Everton or what happens to him going forward will never diminish what he did for us.

On the pitch, similar criticisms have been levelled towards Bruce by fans and, privately, some of the players, too. A player’s representative — who wished to remain anonymous out of respect for his client’s relationship with the club — told The Athletic that his client had expressed on several occasions that he had felt a lack of preparation from the coaching staff.

Under Ismael, players would have regular in-depth group meetings on their opposition, a practice Bruce has continued on the day before matchday, but they would also receive small dossiers on their individual battles. These would highlight a player’s tendencies — including, but not limited to, their stronger foot and positions they like to take up on the field — to best prepare players, particularly inexperienced ones, for their opponents. Alongside a lack of preparation, players have privately noted a lack of an identifiable playing style, with much of the work on the grass led by first-team coaches Steve Agnew, Alex Bruce and Stephen Clemence — who have also departed the club — with the manager taking an overarching senior role.

McClaren was laughably inept, like. Had all the authority of a washed-up supply teacher.
