I watched the second half in a pub and there was a dozen mackems in. I didn't once feel any sort of hatred and resentment. They were just fans supporting their team.

It helps that we are absolutely class right now.

Going "undercover" to watch your rivals play is fucking weird like. Would rather go for a nice pint in a good pub.

He's a content creator, he makes his money from doing this stuff.

In many ways, he's actually excellent at what he does. He produces videos that are cringey as fuck and people click on his videos.

And about to step that up a notch or two in the summer!

The Sunderland manager looked scared at the final whistle more than elated.

I really don't blame him, the prospect of taking that into the PL after finishing 14 (16) points behind third, having never looked convincing against even the poorest teams in the division and not having one player who looks PL standard is quite scary and he knows exactly who the scapegoat will be.

We're competing at the top end of the Premier league these days. We're going into todays game needing a win to guarantee Champions League Football. Every match is meaningful regardless of who it's against.

Playing 2 games against a team of hammer throwers who'll try to kick us off the park an an attempt to appease their rabid fanbase and level up what will be a huge gap in ability won't make our season any more interesting. When we beat them last January it was more shrug of the shoulders stuff than any kind of euphoria.

The risks outweigh the advantages these days.

Gor to say mind I've been genuinely surprised at the amount of NUFC fans who are glad they're back up. If the roles were reversed I doubt you'd find many, if any Sunderland fans sharing the same sentiment and tbf to them, that's as it should be.

I think it’s a hangover of a loser mentality, which is why your last paragraph is bang on, their entire existence is based on loser mentality. You’re worried about the potential negatives rather than focusing on the potential positives.

Generally speaking, the more high stakes games we play in, the better we seem to get, there’s no argument to say that the derbies won’t be high stakes. We’ll approach them properly and we’ll win them both, and they’ll mean a lot more than the cup win did.

Can’t be many clubs that manage to have their biggest game of the season on consecutive days.

Offer them a chance for them to come up or us to miss out on Champions League and they're picking us missing out everyday of the week.

If these lot had even half a brain they'd want us to win today and secure CL football considering how hard we found it to juggle last time round and the fatigue that damaged our PL performance.

What are the potential positives though? We beat a bottom feeder? So what. We beat them last season. It was extremely underwhelming.

On the other hand just say the stars align for them (like they have in these play off games tbf) we get a player sent off 1st half and they end up beating us it literally goes down in mackem folklore. In fact even if one of their cloggers put in a bad challenge that injured one of our key players he'd go down in mackem folklore himself.

As I say I've been genuinely surprised with the amount of NUFC fans wanting them back. That's probably a sign in itself that the derby has lost its edge anyway from our perspective. We should always want the very worst for them, like they do for us, not wanting them getting £200m PL money.

I'd rather they rotted away to nothing whilst we continue to do what we do.

Was definitely disappointed that they got promoted but it would have been a whole lot worse if we were still being run by our previous charlatan owners and management

Back in the same league but we're still a long long way ahead of them and hopefully that will show in our 2 matches against them next season

Why do you care so much about mackem folklore?

Looking forward to the derbies as ever, grew up with plenty of Tyneside mackems and there'll be the usual pisstaking in and beyond derby week. Not remotely worried about our players being kicked.

think they may stay up.

theyre bigger than the likes of ipswich and soton and burnley.

sell bellingham for a few quid - he's overrated anyway.

few quid they've got in for that Tommy lad.

prem money.

just need to get the recruitment right, obviously.

Can only see Leeds spending enough money to give themselves a chance.
