People need to realise that they aren’t going to pay anywhere near the wages required to get any of these players that are getting mentioned.

They operate on a completely different financial model to the last time they were in the PL. Not that that’s necessarily a bad thing mind, but the days of them paying the wages to attract ‘names’ are long gone.

think they may stay up.

theyre bigger than the likes of ipswich and soton and burnley.

sell bellingham for a few quid - he's overrated anyway.

few quid they've got in for that Tommy lad.

prem money.

just need to get the recruitment right, obviously.

Also think they'll stay up. Think they're next in line to get an american takeover too

Happy with that. Their last American owner was an absolute stinker.

I feel he's jinxed it. That'll end up on one of their banners.

Personally I'd rather he hadn't said it. Hopefully motivation will be their only tool but they don't need any more. It was unnecessary.

Why do you care so much about mackem folklore?

I don't i just find them unbearable when they think they've got one over on us. Anyway I'm in the pub now and there's bigger fish to fry today so that's my last word on the subject.

Of who's left in the current PL, who are you backing them to finish above?

On paper - none. Maybe Everton if they have a shite summer.

There's no logic behind it, but I didnt expect them to survive championship when they went up and certainly didnt think they'd get promoted this season. Jus think they'll be able to grind out a lot of points at home in a toxic Everton style

We're only a couple of american takeovers away from them ruling the league completely....

You can see Casemiro at Sunderland? Are you mental [emoji38]

Was a tongue/cheek comment, but those players mentioned are about that level.

Casemiro is shit, only saudi or MLS would be thick enough to invest money into him.

I just seem to remember back in the day, the two sides had a bit of a thing with transfers and loans between the two.

Yeah, I'm mental thanks 👍🏻

Either of the sides yesterday would need to spend £100m minimum to even stand a chance at getting 20 points in the league next season. Both of them looked a million miles away from the standard needed to survive. In fact if they get close to 30 points then they'll have had an exceptional season and vastly overachieved

They'd have to spend a fortune just to get to the level of Leeds and Leeds are going to struggle.

Anyone got the link to the average ticket cost info that was doing the rounds a while back?

£12.80 - I did a post on it, let me try and dig it out.
