They have a thread today complaining about the Holiday Inn at Boldon being rebranded as "Newcastle South".

They love that sort of stuff over there, sure there was a near meltdown about the George Washington Hotel branding itself as Newcastle South or similar a while back too 😂

It feels like vote quimby is making out that the league has suffered because of Sunderlands absence. Quite possibly tbf, they were everyone's favourite shooting practice fodder.

Sunderland are absolutely abysmal to watch and have been extremely flukey this season, they have the 3rd worst xG, 5th worst xG against, 4th lowest possession stats.

They have been found out recently and I would say one of the favourites to be relegated next season.

Sunderland don't look like they've got any distinct gameplan or strategy at all.

It's just a messy 90 minutes of niggling, fouling, grappling, falling over, feigning injury and haranguing referees.

Wimbledon did at least have a distinct style of play and if not for the purist it was often quite entertaining to watch.

If you had to say one positive thing about Sunderland, they work hard.

They're a tough physical spoiler team, and that's about it.

Statistics and gut feeling both say they've been extremely lucky, mind. This lot would regress to the mean next season but, of course, the club could have another good summer.

Speaking of luck, their FA Cup fifth round clash is against bottom of League One Port Vale.... so they're basically one ok draw away from a semi-final spot  :anguish:

I think you'll find if any team plays like Wimbledon, it's them. Daft cunts.

If the Leeds game was anything to go by then they’re an insult to Wimbledon.

I didn't see it, tbh, but I've seen them a handful of times this season, and they defend deep and pump long balls forward. John Fashanu would love their set-up.

The problem is its effective. It's depressing as fuck but its worked.

Arsenal are going  to win the league this season playing the most anti football negative shite, Sunderland are probably going to finish top 10 playing even worse.

You can't knock them for it really, as jts worked for them and brought them "success", but its depressing man. It's not what footballs about.

It raises the age old question, would you rather be bored shit less but win stuff, even though its awful to watch, or play Keegan style football, enjoy yourself but ultimately win nothing. I know they're not the only two options, but football has gone so much to the former its not an entertainment sport anymore.

The Premier League on the whole is dreadful to watch now, I can count the amount of genuinely exciting games over the last 5 years on one hand.
