Funny how players grow in peoples estimation when they don't play. Everytime Gayle has been given the chance in premier league he can't hit a barn door. It's a shame he's not banging them in in championship rather than being bench filler here.

Interested to see how we do without Shelvey. That Midfield looks alright actually but Longstaff doesn't have the passing range.

The front 3 is an odd one but I get the point in swapping Wood for Joelinton, he's the only other player who can hold it up and win the aerial battles.

Some places reckon Joelinton is going up top, can’t see it but if he is then that’s a dreadful decision to not just start Wood instead of Longstaff.

A dreadful decision

I’m guessing it’s…

                        Dubs

Krath    Lascelles   Burn   Targett

        Bruno   Longstaff   Joe

Willock                               Murphy

                      ASM

Or even swap Joelinton and Willock. But I do think that lineup looks more likely than what a few media outlets are suggesting.

Hopefully. I think ASM in a roaming forward role could work wonders against a slow defence. Looking forward to how this plays out. My biggest worry is Lascelles not having any fuck ups.

Doesn’t matter what formation we play. Lascelles is back and that means automatic loss. Cheers, Eddie. Weekend ruined.

On the other hand we're playing anyone but Wood up top, which automatically means we have a better chance at winning, so it evens out surely?

Let’s just see how it works out. We don’t have Bruce in charge anymore! Some need to be rested and we are safe. Howe might even try something slightly different. Rather do it now than next season. Test some players out in various roles, or whatever the idea and plan is today. We don’t know.

Think Howe has earned the right to try what he wants at this stage. Talk about it afterwards I guess.

You would think right?

The guy has got us to 40 points already, and everything he has touched has pretty much turned to gold.

Giving Joeliinton a run out upfront against a porous Norwich defence to try and get him into some goal scoring positions and try and build his confidence in those situations, with nowhere near as much pressure on our games now, is just really clever management IMO. Besides Wood needed a rest too.
