Nick Pope out for a month with knee ligament injury (Various)

Glad to see people are now on board the Popemobile.

Dubs lost it some time ago. A liability when not injured for the last 2 seasons, it's sad but true. But I've banged that drum enough, lets hope its a few year before the same happens to Pope.

People can get so carried away with having keepers who are good with their feet these days. Give me a good shotstopper and reader of the game like Pope any day!

Bravo says hi. Passed the ball around, but couldnt make a save with his hands.

Think it's harsh to call Dubs a liability. He is a very good mid-table keeper, and I don't think people should be taken up for questioning why the club focused on getting a keeper in ahead of attacking players. It's a legitimate question imo woth discussing.

That being said, while I've acknowledged that Pope is the better keeper, I did not expect the gap between the two to be this big (provided Pope maintains this level throughout the season). He's justifying the transfer more and more each passing game.

No other keeper at the club comes out to collect the ball at feet like Pope did on several occasions today.

May be the game that sees Dubravka request a move. I hope not.

I think ultimately that's what you want, but right now we can't get anyone who can do that AND do the other aspects as well as what Pope does.  So we have him and play around his weakness.

His quick throws are laser accurate and rapid.  I think cos of that, he actually disrtibutes better than Dubravka.

I was a bit gutted Dubs was getting replaced, didn’t see the need for it.

Ive seen the error of my ways now, Pope was immense today. So calm and so collected and so proactive. I’m all in.
