Kanj
Let’s make sure Napoli win the title so Newcastle don’t have a better chance at a trophy, champions league/Europa or a title push.

I think it is players like Bruno who are a step below in cost for the foreseeable, could be wrong and Isak signing surprised me so who knows... How fucking weird is it to be linked to someone like that and think it even a possibility lol Profit in FFP terms is a bit more complicated. I don't know the details of the Isak deal but let's say it was £60m and a 6-year contract. His book value goes down £10m per season so if we sold him for £60m in three seasons, FFP doesn't see that as breaking even, it sees it as a £30m profit. I do see your point though and you're going to make a lot more profit selling a player for twice what you bought him for.

No I get that, it's just like there's clubs like Man U and Chelsea who shell out big money for players apparently ready to be world beaters but the impression we get from hiring Dan Ashworth etc is more we want to sign the players before they get that attention. I don't buy that this is bad, look at Chelsea and Man U of late, so many pratfalls spending that much on players like Werner and Sancho and Lukaku who flop despite expectation. I think we can be smart and compete with them. If I have heard of this Napoli chat probably means all the teams have heard of him, so our best chance is an inside track on persuading him to join somehow. The cost is one thing but we are not going to offer disproportionate wages compared to other super rich clubs for him based on our current roster. It seems a hmmm that guy probably got too much attention as is for us tbh.
Whitley mag
Loads of top quality wide men available but the lad from Naples would top the lot. Finish top 4 this season and anything is possible in the summer. Edited December 16, 2022 by Whitley mag

ToonScotman
Linked with Moukoko now from Dortmund. Contract runs out in the summer. He could be a top figure and the front man for years to come. Only 18 years old, go all out for him or even try get a bargain in January and we are laughing. Even if it doesn’t work out little will be lost as he can’t demand massive wages just yet.

Groundhog63
Anyone else try to curb the frustration and disappointment when missing out class players to other clubs? Rafalove
Haven’t seen Moukoko play but he is very highly rated. Listened to a podcast on him that described him as being “ like Aguero, but better technically”.
STM
Weird, because normally I'm super excited about the possibility of signing some good players. Now, because I know its a formality for us to sign good players (if we want them), I'm more relaxed than anything else. We've gone from having to beg good players to sign for us, to potentially players having to beg their clubs to let them leave for us. We can cherry pick who we want (with the exception of players currently on high wages). In the summer, someone like Diaby was a reach, now there is more a sense of, "are we sure he's worth it?" It's a lush position to be in. I still think we needn't rest on our laurels. We have some poor players in our squad and that's where the improvement should be made. Yeah complete sea change from the desperation last January. I’m excited to see if we can sign one quality difference maker in attack or for the first team then maybe 1-2 for general squad.
