I don't know anyone outside of Newcastle who doesn't call them United. Usually it's Man U in a negative way. As in "Manure". You'll all need to have thicker skin if a simple post rattles that you that badly tbh.
AyeDubbleYoo
It's very easy to call them Man United or Manchester United. They don't own the word United, that's the point. Teams should be treated equally and called by their correct names. Especially by broadcasters.

andycap
Mctominay will be valued at 40 million I bet ?. Even though he's a mediocre player.
The Butcher
McShite would be a disappointing signing under Ashley, never mind now. Don't want him at all. We need top quality in there and McTominay isn't.

TheInfiniteOdyssey
I don’t necessarily have an issue with McTominay signing. I can see how his qualities would translate well to Howe’s coaching and tactical set-up. But my position has always been that the club can’t (seriously) then brief the press about FFP struggles if we’re deliberately targeting players in the most inflated market bracket possible (following on from Gordon). It’s probably the only negative against Longstaff and Willock is the amount of chances they blaze over the bar from great opportunities.
Froggy
McTominay does have a good strike on him to be fair. I could see him getting a fair few goals if played higher up the pitch.

Because we all know more then Eddie on what and who he needs for his squad? We are going to need someone like mctominay who will buy into being rotation players of a bigger squad. Menace
Is there no other players in europe like £70m odd on McTominay and Gordon is mental, Howe signing or not.
timeEd32
For me, someone like McTominay comes down entirely to price and price relative to our budget, so it's very hard to judge. If we got him and he was one of only five new players and one of two new midfielders it would be hard to not be disappointed.
RobsonsWonderland
People need to give Gordon a pre season. If we are sitting here in a years time fair enough but Eddie does have history of settling players in before they peak.

Only noticed them being referred to as united in the last couple of years, well after Man City getting dubbed as "citeh" by other club's fans. Never made any sense calling them "United" anyway, as they're not united. There's two teams in Manchester so not united at all.

He was first choice on my wish list last time of asking and still think he would be a phenomenal signing. He looked really gutted (in context of his side just winning the league!) at how little he’d featured/been backed by Pep. Eddie would boost him massively. Tenacious, energetic and technically sound. Having Phillips and Bruno Guimarães as your DM options would be some serious depth.
Theregulars
Re: Gordon again, I'm not not a fan but don't see how people can be as negative as some on here based on his performances. He's been fine-good.

He's usually hiding behind an opposition player, scared shitless over the idea of receiving a pass. He's not a DM. Solskjaer persisted with it for years. He scored 4 goals for Scotland during the last international break. They used him differently. He scored 8 goals (1 might have been taken off him) for United during 20/21. He's not a very good overall player, but he does possess good ball striking technique. His height and physical presence are useful in the opposition box. He's similar to Fellaini. The Fellaini comparison is a pretty good one tbh. He wasn't that good technically either, but he was big and physical, and he got some goals.

Agree, don't understand why people wouldn't want him. I'm guessing wages would be a problem for anyone coming from City and it seems unlikely in general, but I think he'd be great.
